The outside of the hotel is not attractive, but that changed as soon as you step inside. It exudes luxury! In the past 30 's built for the last few years, is updated. The nights we had booked from Germany, because that was the last days of our trip and the booking from home is much cheaper. The hotel has a valet-parking. This is with $28 / 24 hours. Will be charged. As there are no parking in the area, we have used it. There are some who complain about the high price, but I think you these costs for a city break just have to calculate. Anyway you have no other choice.

We loved the location very good. The hotel is not right in the center of town, but everything was very good with nearby underground (red line/"Woodley Park"). The journey to Union Station or White House is not more than 15-20 minutes. 4 blocks from the hotel is the zoo. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel (calvert Street+Connecticut Ave. ) are quite many restaurants, cafes and shopping. Next to the hotel the Rock Creek Park to get to the city

Also with the service at the hotel we are very satisfied. When we arrived, the lady at the front desk gave us a free room upgrade and was very friendly with queries and. Upon our question to nearby restaurants, they directed to us on the right next to the front desk, concierge. This gave us a Restaurantliste the surrounding area. You should ask for a city map from the DC. Also the was given to us. Besides that we got some tips for the metro. Because differently than for example. In New York need DC each may have a private by Metrocard. We have moved us a $10 card as fares depending on the line length)type. The ticket machines are easy to use, the subway is on the red line between 17.00-19.00 hours did get very busy.

In the basement of the building features a health club with sufficient and good equipment. There was a towel service and a contact person in the room. The gym is 24 hours. Open. The hotel offers a jogging track in the adjacent Rock Creek Park recommended. Although part of the route leads next to a busy road, but most of it is in the park. To the city is the way sloping, so will be considered, which Rtg. You choose the way back.

We lived in the room 693. I think it was the biggest we have ever stayed (approx. 45 sqm). It had a separate dressing/vanity areas, and separate closet space, an extra a bathroom, but have been bigger. We also had a balcony with view to the park, the Washington Memorial. In the room there were two queen-size beds and a flat-screen TV, iron, hair dryer etc. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was neat and absolutely clean, as was the rest of the room.

Tips and recommendations

In DC you should definitely take several days. All the museums and the Zoo are free. Absolutely are also worth seeing the Mall and of course Georgetown with M Street, Wisconsin Ave. And p. Street. Beautiful properties, attractive architecture and nice stores for shopping. For breakfast we were food. The hotels in "Open City diner". Evening was the restaurant which was very busy in the morning, it was fine. The breakfast was very good! A bit, in Connecticut Ave., we tried the "movie folks" taken sushi". They had a good lunch at a great value for money. The sushi was delicious.
