Hotel Palmer House Hilton

The hotel is situated in the heart of the Loop and is a good base for sightseeing. Many subway and tram stations are in the immediate area. Also the hotel is on State Street, after the Michigan Ave. The second largest shopping street in downtown Chicago. To Macy's are only 5 minutes walk north. One has to bear in mind that the Loop a business area and therefore empty the streets are also on the weekend. There are many restaurants. So I prefer a sun.

The front desk staff was very friendly and gave us a quiet room with two double beds, which were met. When we have a problem with the closet light fixture had, someone came and sorted out. Also the concierge we got good excursion tips as the lady seemed a little stressed and came across as somewhat conceited. The service in the restaurant lockwood was very accomodating. key is also often generous the tips ('tip') as many of the staff need it. In compliance with the Trinkgeldregeln in the USA, very nice and friendly manner.

We were only there for large rich and delicious breakfast buffet in the restaurant "lockwood restaurant and bar" on the lobby level. The breakfast buffet was (as in America mostly usual) not included and had to be paid extra. The buffet consisting of cereals, fruit, different€¦..as scrambled eggs and omelets, bacon and sausages, cheese, toast, bagels, jam, fruit juices and much more. If you $22 p. P.. For breakfast too expensive in the bottom level also visit Starbucks.

We wanted to be the pool to try the pool, but it was very busy, as it's not very big. But on a city break cares actually not so special. There is also a fitness area, which we didn't use.

On request we got a room with two queen beds which were really comfortable. The size of the room was also nice, like over 30 square meters (226 square feet). The bathroom was rather small, but everything worked well. We also had a walk-in closet where you leave your bags and jackets or Weghängen. There was also a safe, which enough room for a laptop. You can also park in the room adjustable air conditioning, a TV, a work desk, telephone and clock radio. The only thing we thought was criticizing a view to a wall, but it didn't bother us only little so had peace from the road traffic.

Who visited the hotel, best here will reside on weekdays, as at the weekend closes down. Book a hop-on-hop-off tour for three days at the "Chicago trolley and Double Decker Company", which will get you stop in their large tour directly next to the hotel. In addition, the three-day package tours to south , north & Westchicago where you could easily spend half a day.
