Knights romantic but with comfort *

The hotel 'Parador de Alcañiz' is in a former monastery Calatrava-Teutonic knights castle and is perched on a hill in the centre with wonderful views of the city and the surrounding area. The entrance is through some narrow streets, is however well signposted and it has sufficient parking spaces directly in front of the entrance. Our room was on the top floor and it was equipped with two comfortable beds, places to sit and work desk. Bathroom/toilet well maintained and very clean. The breakfast buffet was generous, versatile and delicious, the young lady immediately refilled before anything was missing. If you are your feet want to represent it is within a few minutes down the hill to the centre, there are the great cathedral, as well as bars/restaurants.
