Hotel Parque Carolina

We were there at the beginning of March 2010 for nine days in the apartment complex Carolina Parque, region Costa del silencio, Tenerife.

To be fair the positive points in our opinion:
the complex made us a clean and neat impression for Spanish standards. We had a small studio with balcony and view of the sea booked, which as described equipped was. The size of the studios, as well as of the bathroom were okay. Balcony furniture (unfortunately without upholsterings) and parasol were available. Satellite tv with many German channels as well, at no extra charge. Towels were changed in the time sufficient. Community pool with sun loungers (unfortunately without upholsterings) made a clean and neat impression. Fortunately, the rent was not as high, otherwise we would have been upset.

Now the negative points in our opinion:
front desk unfortunately, rarely occupied, you got only a telephone number for emergencies. A holiday-maker, the had an inquiry, told us futile Anrufversuchen the foretold phone. If you book, you should know, that because of its proximity to the airport and south during the day until late in the evening permanent An airplane noise problem. We experienced sometimes take-offs and landings in five minutes. Also beware when you book a room 219 and 220! View of the sea there given, but with negative taste. If you booked a unpleasant view of a debris/rubble mound with, immediate in front of the balcony trash and containers, late into the night extensive and noisy filled to be. Almost every night the garbage trucks said container, which tore us from the sleep every time. Speaking of poor night's sleep! The beds in our studio were an impertinence and from our point of view not deserve the name bed. We would have slept on a board, there would be no significant difference former. We are in our plight on the small sofa bed establishments.

Beach area:
Beaches of the Costa silencio are scarce and it wasn't't very nice. A decent Beach, the no doubt deserved it, to find, you would have to have a certain arrival time plan. We found our dream in El medano.
Or hiking was very good.
Opportunities for shopping and restaurants immediate Proximity and easy to reach by foot.
Insulation and care program was very good nearby.

The island of Tenerife was rather disappointed in some respects, especially the unsightly buildings (blight) in the south didn't give a good impression. The beautiful north of the island made up for luck therefor. Tourist traps and admission prices, where you only look. An example, eight minute Gondola ride to the Teide 25 euro per person.

Conclusion:
If you just want to get away from the icy winter is on Tenerife because of the mild climate consistently well cared for. Nice corners are there, but you have to search and find them. Tenerife is a frightening example therefor as you are in a few decades from hunger once a beautiful island is able to destroy any initiatives.
