Hotel Philippos Beach

The Hotel position is good for those who prefer a quiet relaxing. We travelled there by car, so the mobility was not a problem. The closest villages are Nea Roda (4. 5 km) and Ouranopolis (7 km), where is possible to make shopping. In Ierissos (10 km) are even supermarkets (e. g.LIDL) with complete offer. The beach is 10 m accross the main street (for children it is possible to use an underground tunnel with the height 1. 4 m). The beach is nice, sandy and clean with the possibility to relax on the maintained grass part. Water was crystal clear and warm. Outstanding.

Upon our arrival the check-in was made very prompt, personal welcome by the hotel manager and with the guidance to the room by the receptionist. The room was clean, with operating air condition, refrigerator. Cold and warm water all day round. Towels were changed daily, bedclothes once a week. Room cleaning daily.

The food was tasty, buffet breakfast and dinner. Variety of vegetables, salads, meats, side-dishes, sweets, fruits. Really for all tastes... Drinks for the breakfast are free (juice, coffee, tea, water, hot chocolate), drinks for the dinner are paid extra (quite high prices: water 1. 0 l=€1, 6; wine 0, 5 l=€6; beer 0, 5 l=€3, 70; juice 0, 2 l=€3; cola 0, 2 l=€2, 5).

Tennis court, table tennis, billiards, internet available in the hotel area - extra charged. The swimming pool in the hotel garden was nice, clean water, ideal for small children (0, 9m deep water) and also swimmers (1, 3 - 2, 8 m deep water). Around the pool limited quantity of deckchairs and sunshades (recommender to make a reservation early in the morning by putting the towel - 7: 00 a. m. is too late...) The pool bar opened from 9: 30 a. m. till midnight, cocktails, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Was almost all the time empty because of high prices (hotel uses the situation that in the close surroundings no tavernas and bars are available).

Our family room was nice, enough space (one double bed and two separate beds), TV with limited programmes, individually operated air condition. The bathroom equipped with WC, bathtube. Daily cleaned.

Opposit to the hotel is an island Amouliani with beautiful sandy beaches, lagunas. It is possible to get there by a ferry from Tripiti (port is 1200 m from the hotel - 15 minutes walking) or to rent a boat for 5 persons (as we did, for 25hp engine the daily fee is €40 + petrol). By this boat you can sail round the Amouliani island and to stop on the beaches as you like. About 50 km far from the hotel is Stagira with the Aristoteles birthplace museum, the ancient Stagira close to Olympiada (40km far from the hotel). Those, who have no car at their disposal, it is possible to rent a car directly in the hotel (cheapest €40/day+petrol) or to use the regular bus service (bus stop directly at the hotel).
