As a group of seven hikers we found that the tables in the outdoor area were very dirty.
On many tables, there were dirty dishes and food leftovers, which the jackdaws then spread all over the place.
And we are not talking about the shortcomings resulting from the construction site!
The restaurant itself was clean. We could pay with euro, but not with coins, only with notes.
This is acceptable, but in my opinion it is fraud, because the cashier indicated an exchange rate of 1:1. (Example: 1 coffee = 4 Swiss francs. This equaled with 3.40 euro, 1.60 Swiss francs change if you paid 5 euros.)
We were seven people, with all the same procedure, all had to pay too much. We complained, but still got no answer from the hotel management.
We felt as being cheated on: exorbitant prices, dirt and trash everywhere and fraud at payment.
We as active hikers and climbers have often experienced the hospitality of the Swiss positive.
And this is especially true in smaller places, smaller hotels, hostels, pensions and restaurants.
This is why we were truly shocked by the poor service in the touristic hotspots, like on the top of the Pilatus.
