The experience of a lifetime
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AMy husband and I took our two teenage sons to the top of Mount Pilatus to stay one night in the Pilatus-Kulm. For a one-star hotel, we could not have been more pleased. Because of a heavy snow the week before, we were practically the only guests and had the mountain to ourselves. What an experience!-- the people, the view, the feeling of being on top of the world!
Location
There could not be a more perfect location -- as I said before, this is an experiece to remember! Our sons rode on the rodelbahn on the way up, hiked around while there, played in the snow, and then we played card games in the room while watching the gorgeous view.
Everyone was extremely friendly & helpful. Water and chocolate in the rooms.
Gastronomy
The restaurant served us a fine dinner and had breakfast waiting in the morning.
Sport & Entertainment
The luge rides on the way up the mountain were very entertining, as was the cable car ride. The hotel had internet access available.
Room
We loved the rooms-- simple but very adequate -- well worth it for the price! Where else can you get a view that extends out over the mountaintops?
Tips and recommendations
We were there in early June and the weather was excellent, if a little chilly. Definitely jacket weather!
