Hotel Pilot Beach

Location: The hotel is located directly at the beach. A street divides the hotel in 2 parts. A tunnel leads from the beach part to the main part of the hotel.
At first we were a little irritated by this, but it turned out, that the street wasn't as noisy as we thought so we didn't mind it. The beach is great, very clean, sandy, no rocks etc in the water. There is a shower you can wash the sand off when you come from the beach, facilities look very neat and well maintained.
At the beach side there is a very nice pool wit a great view overlooking the ocean, a nice bar/restaurant attached to it.
The town of Georgioupolis is about 1 km away (a ca 20 min walk on the beach) where you find a few restaurants directly at the beach and also a small supermarket.
We didn't participate in any excursions but there are some offered by the hotel, which sound very interesting. Next time we'll go!

Staff is very friendly and helpful. I heard them speak German (some of them even fluently) and of course english. Room service was very good and also flexible when in came to when to clean. Clean towels every day, even the bed sheets very changed every day.
The first day the air condition didn't work properly. The complained was handled very friendly and was fixed the same day.

We only went to the main restaurant because we liked the variety of the food offered. There was something for literally everybody there because they offered Krete specialties but also other international dishes. The food was very fresh, empty plates replaced immediately. On some of the dishes a little more spices wouldn't hurt, though but that was very neglectable considering what was offered. Even the kids looked very happy when they were filling their plates.
Beverages, wine or beer had to be bought separately at the table, prices were reasonable and can be compared with normal restaurants.
Since the main restaurant was located in 1st floor, you had a great view from your table over the main pool and the area when you were sitting on the very large terrace. Great way to start and end a day.

Pools are great. There is the main pool in the middle of the hotel area and 3 smaller pools, a very nice one directly at the beach. Sundeds and umbrellas were free of charge at the pool, but not directly at the beach if I recall correctly. Beach towels were also free of charge.
There was a nice gym in the health and wellness facility which you could use for free. There is a volleyball field at the beach, net and lines in a good shape. There were also a few sports classes offered like aqua fitness or tournaments of various kinds in the afternoon.

The size of our room was 24 qm and had a pretty big bathroom with a bath tub, a sink and a toilet andwas equipped with a hair dryer, soap, shampoo and body lotion.
The small entrance area holds the main closet, the safe and a small refrigerator.
The main room had the bed, a nice flat screen and brand new TV, the floor was tile. Attached to the room was a nice little terrace with 2 nice rattan chairs and a table.
Everything was very clean, not brand new but in very good shape.
