Big disappointment. Never a four star hotel. *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel in general:
The hotel is older, it shows all the facilities (balcony furniture, bed, closet, tv etc.), the condition of carpets or doors, not exist a lift etc. the garden is well kept and the general cleanliness was good too. Families and handicapped-friendly is concerned this hotel is very bad to be evaluated. On the one hand, there is no elevator as mentioned above (we had the baggy daily in the second floor), luggage service not available, no playgrounds, no entertainment, no kids.
Location and setting:
All in all very good. Walking distance to the village only 30 minutes and just a walk reachable. Shopping possibilities were available and also in five minute walking distance to a Einkafszentrum available. To the airport with the taxi about five minutes (-> Aircraft noise: a couple of times per day fly fly directly over the hotel and relatively deep.)
The SPA is very new and nicely decorated (most of the photos on the hotel website are from the SPA). But you have to be paid separately entrance (relatively expensive: about 22 euros for three hours sauna, indoor swimming pool (not heated), Jacuzzi, and fitness room (surcharge!) no children in addition, only starting from 16. Opening hours are from 10:00-14:00-18,55 13:00 and, thus for morning exercise in the fitness room No capacity...
Service:
Here you have to make a clear distinction between the staff in the restaurant and at the front desk the. The restaurant staff were all very nice, helpful and friendly. The foreign language skills were limited. Probably no one spoke German and English only limited, but for a four star hotel very poor.
The service at the front desk was bad. There were wrong information, the service mentality was hardly available and no trace of flexibility.
Dining:
The food was all in all, not bad, but not great. There were many different sorts of fruit juices, but all very tasteless and very little fresh squeezed, let alone really with fruit content (we had the feeling, that the water of doses were pickled fruits,). The bread was very good and fried eggs etc., also perfectly.
For dinner, you could choose from two menus or a la carte-food. The menus was OK, the side dishes (vegetables) usually the same. The courts partly were not served at the right temperature.
Sport, entertainment and pool
Entertainment: No, except for the rabbit at night on the lawn, the ping pong table and the more bad than right miniature golf course.
Sport: as mentioned Internet gym (1H about six euro)
Pool: the pool was nice, clean and relatively clean. The beach chairs was OK. Bad were the umbrellas. Optically looked quite nice, but many were broken, they also offered a very bad UV protection.
Rooms:
The rooms were small and old. The bathroom was OK. The tv had a German channel (ZDF), but not in all rooms, true, there were also those with older TVs without German transmitters. Positive was the cleanliness. They were cleaned daily and the towels were changed daily.
Closing:
All in all the holiday was a very bad experience and thus a disappointment. The hotel deserves more than three stars!
