The five stars were right - everything very clean! *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AOn the whole we (Mother and grown up daughter) were very satisfied. The area was very clean and nicely constructed. The pools were generous, the breakfast buffet very varied and the rooms had a great bathroom.
Location
The hotel lay directly by the waterside promenade - the nice thing here was that it was a pedestrian promenande - you looked around for traffic noise here pointlessly. In each direction on the promenade you found nice restaurants - towards the old harbour there were simpler ones though (like pizzerias, sandwhich huts) and towards the new harbour bigger and upmarket restaurants appeared. You should go and have a look at both of them. Also there was one souvenir shop after the other and a few permuferies as well as a nice, little market on wednesdays by the new harbour.
The staff was extremely friendly and knew how to care for children. English was understood and other languages were sometimes spoken, too. The rooms were very clean. The pools were also clean and neat except a drinks service we would have used a bit more frequently by the pool.
We only used the Spa for massages as we hadn´t booked the complete package. If you did this it was better to book these packages beforehand on the internet as you otherwise wouldn´t have got an appointement. The prices were in the region of western Europe.

The hotel itself had three buffet restaurants which we only used for breakfast though. Also there was a great Japanese, a gourmet restaurant in which we ate excellent fish, a tapas-bar (also very tasty), an ice cafe and an Italian altough we didn´t eat there. It was always very good and the staff was very obliging. The prices were adequate and it didn´t lack change. Breakfast itself was very varied and international as well as native. We guessed the length of the buffet at about 30 metres. The only drawback in our opinion was that the music in the restaurants was too loud.
Sport & Entertainment
We didn´t use any of the sport offers. The fitnessroom itself was sadly in the neighbouring building and didn´t look nice. The pools on the other hand were as said very clean. One pool was a classic and heated pool (29°C) and the second was a saltwater pool. There was also a childrens pool and a whirlpool. In the outer buildings (childrens country and family suites) there were further pools. The sunbeds were very comfortable and plentiful although we were there in the off-season. We couldn´t review the high-season as we didn´t know the capacity of the hotel.
The umbrellas were very big and gave more than enough shade - sadly they were quite hard to open. Showers about every 15 metres.
The beach itself was a public beach and you could hire sunbeds and umbrellas there for the day. We didn´t use this offer because of the closeness of the hotel. The water at the beach was strikingly clear.
Room
We had booked a Suite (seperate bedroom) with a view of the sea. We were lucky enough to have a balcony in the direction of the pool and not towards the neighbouring property - which had collapsed on one side. Also we were on the top floor but had a roof over our balcony because it was a suite which was good because of the strong sun. The standard rooms on the top floor sadly didn´t have an extra sun roof. The bathroom was very big and had a shower, a bath an extra toilet and a double wash basin. Everything top. Only the hair dryer. We wouldn´t have recommended it for long hair as it just wasn´t powerful enough. The safe was big enough and the minibar had enough space to put your own shopping in. The TV wasn´t used by us but they had a number of international channels. The air conditioning ran well but with an open window you got enough fresh air. The room maids brought enough towels and swapped them again in the evening if you wanted. Also your bath utensils got re-filled twice a day (shaver with foam, shampoo, shower gel, lotion, comb, cotton swabs, kleenex, toothbrush and toothpaste, soap and and cloths to remove make-up).
Tips and recommendations
As the hotel was very friendly towards children you shouldn´t have booked here if you weren´t fond of children. We didn´t mind, the children were all in a good mood. Usually there weren´t any families by the seawater pool so you could have a quiet read there. As described in the rooms section we would recommend a sea view on the inside of the hotel. Because it was very windy you were not allowed to underestimate the power of the sun and also not to forget a light jacket for at night. All in all we thought the price/performance ratio was very acceptable and we would go back there for a short trip (one week) again.
