Hotel Punta Leona

Above all: I can understand it not, that some people in the existing reviews about this hotel complained about it, that the employees speak German no it only a German television station is. All these people said: you're in Costa Rica, language Spanish! If you want the counterpart, should fly to Malle and the beautiful, stunning Costa Rica spare!

Found what we positive:

The staff at this hotel is very nice and friendly. The area is very clean and the really everywhere also if you have a little in the years come is, inter alia, of what you have terminated the concrete beach access, directly on the Playa Mantas, looks! The other beach, Playa Blanca, the one with a shuttle or also to foot over the Manta rays (at low tide) Playa can be reached, is beautiful (but some waves, what the swimming fun for us but the giant has made)!!
The main restaurant is nicely and wood open plan.

Like everywhere in Costa Rica you get here also, the part, great animals to face like Aras, coatis, raccoons, iguanas and with something luck also toucans and belt animals (not finally list). It offered by the hotel two free animal observations. On the one hand, the night walk and a bird watching tour in the morning. We have both gone through and found full all the night walk exciting. Spiders have seen here and also the very dangerous lances otter (bite lethal without serum, but it is a doctor on the grounds of the hotel).
As you get shit and the is also the reason why you never without a guide in the rainforest to go. In the hotel it was Arnulfo the us has led and progress is gone. He speaks english and many other employee was very nice.

What we found negative:

I must say, that we before our stay in this hotel a 8-round trip with a separate jeep have made around the country. Here we were in beautiful, individual hotel (booked through Miller-travel and very recommended!) we arrived here now, had decided to conclude to enjoy a week seaside holiday and us on the basis of recommendations for this hotel.

I must say in all honesty, that my friend and me the first impression of the hotel once has shocked. Makes a nice impression but the reception as we us at the pool area went, it was over with the good impression. Here was the parts played loud music and as we arrived on a Sunday was it fully fully and completely. The beach directly behind the pool area (Playa Mantas) found we not beautiful and smells of stale water also it here. The qualified impression then fortunately again, as we the Playa Blanca and the first Aras saw.

The rooms were we disappointed because they are close to each other with the other cabins and no terrace was. Furthermore, the hotel is on a huge area with some really long distributed. The hotel has simply no charm!

On the weekends it is want to relax in the hotel, as many locals here. The is not bad after all further, however the restaurant is completely overstrained. Some guests, time to 19 hours as were the not, 30 minutes in line had to be able to eat. So something is in our opinion not at all! Also the food at the hotel the flavor, but it is not hopelessly bad. The service is so-so. If you arrive new, is one for the first time did not asked if you wanted to drink something. If the waiters on it have and personable, as it was the case with us god was, then one is asked rather.
The drinking water one gets what, we could not. It came us before like chlorine from the pool. It was definitely not from the bottle, and if you wanted from the bottle, you had to pay for it. This prompts a horrific suspicion on.

Everywhere in the restaurant are good signs, that the guests should please not the animals feed, as this would affect their foraging, what we found was in order. We asked us but then, why especially on the weekend, when it is full, the monkeys for breakfast from the restaurant were fed to the tourists to keep you entertained. As rightly what can not be. Particularly annoyed waiter tried again for part 'scale' noise to pass. Everything was very strange.

In conclusion, we would have been really annoyed us the plague, if this hotel for the whole journey we had booked. The excursions offered are crazy (actually already a joke) and one missed almost everything, if you are traveling from Costa Rica only this hotel looks! We recommend all Costa Rica own also on to explore!
