Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A ALarge hotel on the outskirts of Luxor but within walking distance or a £2 taxi ride to the centre! Wide age range but all catered for. Well cared for, clean rooms and excellent food.
Location
Gardens are vast with plenty of greenery and tended daily. Local shopping includes Jewellers, restaurants and general stores. There are plenty of opportunities to go on Excursions whether you use the Local Tour Guide or the numerous locals who can offer the same trips at a more competitive price.
The staff are all very friendly and their grasp of the English language is very embarrasing because of our lack!!!!!! Customer service department deals with any problems quickly and efficiently. Considering the number of customers they seem to know you and your room number with ease.
Gastronomy
In the Hotel there is a choice of Italian, Chinese, traditional Egyptian along with European food. The portions are very good and cleanlines of tableware etc. is outstanding. There is a Bar in the Hotel and a Cafe/Bar at the bottom of the gardens overlooking the Great River Nile to the West Bank. Outside the Hotel there is good natured banter from the locals who all want you to buy from their shop. If you enter a shop be prepared to haggle, it is part of the holiday.
Sport & Entertainment
There are two pools one is well organised for children the top pool mainly for adults. The sunbeds are plentiful. In the bottom pool there is a swim up bar/restaurant. There is a gym, temperatures outside in August is in the 45-50c.
Room
The rooms are a good size, but remember you only sleep in them you donot spend much time in them because the sunshine is for you. They are kept clean on a regular daily basis. You need a room with a balcony overlooking the Nile and the West Bank. A view not to be missed every morning and evening. The rooms could do with a redecoration and perhaps a softer bed!!!There is a mini bar, tv, air conditioning small safe but no tea making facilities.
Tips and recommendations
You do not need to take towels ther are plenty clean towels in the room and by the pools. If you like the heat August this year gave a high of 49c. Do not use your phone unless it is very important. In the hotel is a leather bag shop very good quality and value. Enjoy the banter outside the hotel, the locals love it.
