Hotel Pyramisa Isis Luxor

Right on the edge of the Nile with lovely views across to the West Bank and mountains. We booked all our excursions with the hotel agent, Ahmed (don't know his company name) It's better not to waste a day touring round all the other agents in the area as Ahmeds prices were the same or lower. He also provided us with the best Guide ever called Sayed. That man is so passionate about the history of Egypt, an amazing memory and sense of humour too. Born in Luxor, there's nothing he doesn't know in detail. He saved us a lot of money by telling us what to do and what to avoid.

All the staff were were extremely nice, welcoming and helpful. Rooms were cleaned and fresh towels every day. Room service meals quick and very cheap compared to english hotels.

We were Bed and Breakfast. The European and Egyptian Breakfast is buffet and a huge choice in the main restaurant which is also All-Inclusive for those guests who pay extra. There's also a Chinese Restaurant, Italian Restaurant (but not All-Inclusive), Pool/garden menu, bar menu, room service menu. The waiters are very efficient and friendly. The Club Sandwich on the Pool Menu is enormous, comes with salad and fries and is more than enough for two people which costs just under £4. See Haggag in the Badia Tent, a lovely man who will really look after you. He also has good quality Sheesha.

Two swimming pools, one is heated (January). Gardens and sunbeds immaculate. Towels provided. Open garden shower for the pools. Various very good singers/musicians in the evening in the bar area with small dance floor. Disco wasn't open. Internet expensive. Various shops inside the hotel and many close by outside.

We had a Junior Suite which was very spacious. Large sliding doors to close off the bedroom from the lounge area. TV, two balconies, safe (free), kettle and tea/coffee/sugar sachets. Hair dryer (not very powerful), fridge, telephone.
