Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe area is quite large and the hotel offers buggy pick-up from the rooms to spa/pool/restaurants. Nevertheless, there are also nice walkways around the hotel. International guests during the week and over the weekend often people from Abu Dhabi come. It was very busy over the weekend, but still felt not crowded.
Location
The last 10 km from the main road are worth the travel to the hotel - if one loves the desert! the Rub al Khali desert dunes in this area are really awesome. The trip out from Abu Dhabi is roughly 2 hours easy drive.
Staff all the time very friendly. The rooms are maintained to the level to be expected from a 5* etablissement.
Gastronomy
3 restaurants/2bars (poolbar / upstairs bar at Suhail restaurant). Suhail offers exquisite cuisine at moderate to higher prices, but delicious food. Wines on the offer are ok, with a few very nice offers. We chose an angus steak and I have to admit, it is quite a while since I enjoyed dinner so much. The rooftop bar at Suhail is really a place to relax before moving back to the room.
Sport & Entertainment
Be aware, you are in the "middle of nowhere". Not a place you go for sports, disco, entertainment and shopping. One is isolated. The offers therefore are limited, especially in the hot period. Even though, we climbed the dune, saw an Arabian Oryx, enjoyed to sit by and in the pool (poolbar is well protected against the sun, so one can relax there for a few juices or other drinks/meals. Towels and drinking water are offered plenty.
The Spa offers are a highlite! The massages were absolutely worth the money.
Room
The deluxe balcony rooms are not the largest, but the beds are really comfortable. International, many sports channels as well as local TV, W-Lan and DVD is provided.
Tips and recommendations
A stay for 3 day will be most probably what is recommended. It is a longer trip (if you are coming from abroad), then two full days relaxing seems appropriate and during this time one can experience all there is to do/see.
