We had booked for accommodation Including breakfast and were the only Greek guests at the hotel, as we live in Germany and from there. Due to the popularity is often booked out and so the hotel for local not available. We opted for a medium size hotel. Pool and other similar frills were we didn't care. Nevertheless, one can find the midday sun all relaxed at the clean and landscaped pool and relax under the shade of the adjoining trees. Every day (!) the towels, as were the sheets changed. The breakfast was extremely rich. One day we decided to have lunch at the hotel and have since it repeated daily. Than Hellenen is not a new national cuisine, but the mother the chef has created in the kitchen. The food was absolutely EXCELLENT. During our stay was the Hotelklientel from Scandinavians, ages 40 and 70 years. The vast majority was traveling solo. very pleasant and quiet like-minded individuals.

The hotel is located in a small village called Vassiliatika. The next larger place was called Argirades. Argirades is located on the main street of the island. You need about a 10 minute walk. From Argirades from is the southern harbor in about 20 minutes. To the airport and the Zentralhafen you needed about 40 minutes. For the disastrous winding roads of Vassiliatika Argirades you can certainly not to blame the hotel. Annoying is the lack of infrastructure still. Pharmacy, doctor, kiosk, Lidl, tavernas, etc.. Are in Max. 15 Minutes distance. We went on a day, from the hotel from a tour toward corfu city started. It was all very well marked and the people on the island happy to help. Small tip: Although the way very tedious and you shouldn't leave without the ruin kerkyra "Aggelokastro" to have seen. to the wonderful beaches in the south of the island, you needed no more than 20 minutes.

About the handling of the staff with complaints I can't write anything. We had Quite simply no complaints. The hotel is run by a family. Everyone had their task. Everyone was courteous, friendly and speak German and English. The room was up-to-date, Including air conditioning. It was cleaned every day and it was wiped every day. Exceptional! At the pool there was a small bar and the drinks and the food was served there where you wanted.

As already mentioned: Plentiful and tasty breakfast. The best was to lunch. Daily changing Greek-corfiot cuisine. Husband tasted the fresh, delicious ingredients, and the love with which the mother the boss raw food. Prices: 2 people, full of plates lunch, 1-2 Begleitteller (chips, feta, Auberginensalat etc. ), 2 drinks, 1 bottle of water, bread and the obligatory frape for dessert (iced coffee) for 23 Euro - it's fabulous!

A minibus drove every day after breakfast the tourists from the hotel to the beach and just picked them at the agreed time there. 1x week there was Syrtaki ala Zorbas, just what tourists need to tell them in the home, you know as the Greeks live. There are all kinds of corfu beaches: lonely, organised (chair on and Co for rent), with/without music, with/without FKK. They mean: The sea is top quality, the rates are human and the islanders friendly and courteous. The bar at the hotel was open every night and there was always the pleasant and relaxing get-togethers.

Bathroom and toilet fully tiled and in very good condition, Including hair dryer, but relatively tight. Rooms with air conditioning, satellite television with satellite channels, a mini-fridge, balcony with chairs and a small table. not too big, but enough for two people. Quiet location, newer ages. I only had a clothes line or a washing line for the wet swimming gear missed otherwise top.

Tips and recommendations

We are from Thessaloniki drove to Igoumenitsa, from there on the ferry and after kerkyra (south, small harbor) their mind. Brand new, very modern and superb extensive Egnatia odos (motorway), the journey time to the port town of Thessaloniki Igoumenitsa about 3 hours (with average about 120km of coasts/h). Alone the drive is already a highlight. In breach of Katara passes I strongly advise you against nature caring one stop and a guided tour through the territories of the northeastern part in Greece (which is just call arrange). The fauna and flora of Pindos mountains is unspoiled and tremendous virgin! The passage of Igoumenitsa after kerkyra is 55 minutes which was a lot cheaper compared to the Zentralhafen and from the harbor you can travel approximately 30 minutes to the hotel. All with young children manageable. The economic crisis in Greece for us to small bonus that the island was not crowded despite peak season. Cell phone reception is on the whole island. Tip: my fellow countrymen are the Greek Orthodox very connected to believe. For those who want to experience the original greek Firm and day of St. PROPHET Elias ("Profitis Ilias"), and on a 20 July there is, you should definitely go on the Centenary of the same name, small church join in. It is a unique and an authentic Greek experience. lost there not a tourist on that day. And that's a good thing
