Don't book All Inclusive *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel was in a good condition. Everything was clean and neat. It had a French management, so other nationalities weren't really welcome here, especially not with All Inclusive. The only people who spoke or wanted to speak several foreign languages were the receptionists. Waiters or hosts: No chance. In hotels with Spanish management, they at least try to communicate with all the guests.
Location
The location was very quiet. About 600m to the super great and very broad beach. The water was crystal clear. About 1 hour and 10 min from the airport. Plenty of shopping facilities and trips offered.
It varied quite a bit. The reception staff knew international languages, but wasn't really friendly. The maids did a great job. Everything okay. But now the worst: The staff in the bar and at the pool. How shall I describe it? Well, they liked to ignore All Inclusive guests, since we didn't have to pay. The hotel also offered half board, and half board guests had to pay for their drinks. On our last evening, one of the waiters even insulted us, as we'd called for him. He said or rather showed us (since he didn't speak any English or German) that we shouldn't call for him, as he was no dog. But how could we catch his attention with him serving at the table next to ours and just turning away to avoid us? I'd been to many hotels, but never experienced something like that.
Gastronomy
Most dishes in the restaurant were only lukewarm. I don't know if the French like lukewarm food, if so, it was okay for them, and they were the majority of the guests anyway. But it was too cold for us. Something certainly nobody liked were dirty glasses. When they came out of the dishwasher, they were full of water spots, which didn't look very nice. They should either have used tablets or re-polished the glasses. Or maybe rated the hotel with 3 stars. The prepared salads were rather tasteless, but that's always a matter of taste. For dessert, there were mainly cake and fresh fruit. It was always okay.
In my opinion, the food deserved only 3 stars. There was no show-cooking (fresh meat and fish being prepared right at the buffet), as I'd seen it in other 4 star hotels. Here, all the dishes were on hotplates. Too bad!!
Sport & Entertainment
When we wanted to play badminton once, the rackets were broken. A hotel disco was supposed to open at 11pm every evening, but it remained closed. Entertainment was only in French. The pool was nice. There were always some free pool chairs. The hotel wasn't fully booked, though (not surprising to me).
Room
No complaints about the rooms. I'd sent an e-mail to the hotel before and asked for a pool view room on the upper floor. Worked out. The rooms had individual air conditioning. Safe could be rented, but unfortunately cost 15€ a week. Everything was very clean. Unfortunately, the showers came with a shower curtain that got quite clingy when taking a shower. A fixed partition would have been better.
Tips and recommendations
I wouldn't recommend this hotel for non-French people, and you definitely shouldn't book All Inclusive.
