Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel was located fairly quietly in the European district in a small side road. The furnishing in the lobby, the restaurant and the room gave a neat and - on first impression - clean impression.
Looking more closely you saw faults concerning the cleanliness (more below). The hotel had an underground garage (21.00 Euros per day).
Location
The location of the hotel in the European district was quite good for a city trip. Bus and underground stop nearby. The Grand Palace you could reach on foot in about 15-20 minutes. Nearby there were a few restaurants/bars.
The staff at reception were all friendly and helpful. Nearly all the staff members spoke multiple languages. Check-in and check-out worked without problems. The room cleaning was quite rough. In the corners next to the night tables they didn't hoover (chunks of dust), in the bathroom the sink sometimes wasn't clean, in the drain there were tufts of hair. On two days there weren't any big showering towels. Original words: "We haven't got enough big towels in the hotel". Only after a massive complaint big towels were brought from the office.
Gastronomy
We had booked overnight stay/breakfast. The breakfast room was located on the ground floor next to the bar. Breakfast was offered as a buffet. The choice matched a middle class hotel. Multiple sorts of bread and bread rolls, small pastries, cerel corner, juices, scrambled eggs from a can - but sometimes fresh fruit. The choice of sausage and cheese was limited to 2-3 types. Missing things were only hesistantly replaced. The first edition (very early was already partly dried out. Only after asking a serviette was put down to hold the bread while cutting it. The tables were cleared quickly but before re-doing them no satisfactory cleaning took place so that the table could be sticky.
Sport & Entertainment Unused
Room
The rooms were pleasantly big and equipped with a double bed, desk, TV, couch with table and 2 night tables and a middle sized closet.
Further a fridge, trouser iron and kettle were available. In the bathroom there was a big wash wable with enough shelve space, a bathroom with a shower wall, two big mirrors and a hair dryer. A cosmetic mirror as well as a bidet you looked for without a result.
Tips and recommendations
For a city trip the hotel was ok - on the condition that you got a special offer, for example a weekend-special which included breakfast as well as the parking charges. The normal catalogue price was too exepsnive.
