Good hotel in a good location *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe had actually reserved another hotel but were placed by it for a night at the Residenza Cannaregio. The hotel was very modern, in the lobby large pictures were hanging from Africa and the furnishings were with not much decoration (which was not meant negatively). From the lobby we could go to a small boat dock on the canal. There was a small lengthy courtyard garden, with much beautiful green foilage where there was also the breakfast restaurant. Our room was very clean and the furnishings were good. Nothing special but everything was fine. The TV had only a German program, and was only in very poor quality.
Location
The hotel was located in an area away from the tourist-paths, but it was still very fast to downtown. Whoever wanted it was 10 minutes walk, but there were boat docks stations for the water bus. From the airport, the orange line went to the station Madonna D Órto. It cost € 13 and took about 30 minutes. The boat traveled hourly on the hour, from the station it was only a few minutes walk. (Without having to carry many bags over bridges).In the vicinity there were numerous restaurants to dine especially in the evening relatively cheaply.
All staff was friendly to us, at breakfast they were very attentive for cleanliness and filled the buffet freshly. German was rarely spoken, with English we got along fine everywhere. Our room was clean and otherwise we had no reason for complaints.
Gastronomy
The breakfast was delicious and the selection was large. Fresh fruit, canned fruit, various types of yoghurt, corn flakes, granola, sausage, ham, cheese, bread, bread rolls, cakes, bacon, eggs, jams, Nutella, honey, juice, coffee, cocoa, etc. What we ate, was also all delicious.
Sport & Entertainment Unused
Room
Our room was good with view of the channel. The ceilings were quite high, and with wooden beams, looked quite rustic. The bathroom was modern and clean, the toilet was in a separate room - separate from the shower. We felt comfortable.
Tips and recommendations
I had reception problems with my cell phone often, but not my mother, so obviously it depended on the service provider.
