Hotel Residenza Cannaregio

It was located a little remote, but for people who walk well and wanted to do some sightseeing in the city, it was ideally located! There was the opportunity to explore somewhat the oldest part of Venice and the Ghetto which was worth seeing, that would otherwise certainly not be seen. Since a water bus stop was just 5 minutes walk away the location was well suited for the less active pedestrians.

All questions were always answered fully. Service (for bag storage after check-out, excursion directions and bus departure times) were offered to us in German without request.

Since we only ate breakfast, we could say little about this offer. But the breakfast was fine.In good weather there was even the possibility, to have breakfast in the garden in the sunshine.

Apart from a slight mildew on the shower ceiling, everything was very clean, neat, well kept and attractively furnished.The cleanliness of the rooms was explained by the thorough and not superficial cleaning by the cleaning staff (each room took about 3/4 hour for cleaning).TV with one German channel (RTL) was present, but who wanted to watch TV in Venice anyway? Internet connection in the business-room was also available, and a well-functioning air conditioner!

Whoever wanted to visit the Basilica San Marco must be informed that there were no bags, backpacks, etc. allowed inside. But a brilliant tip to save a long waiting time of about 1 hour, take a small backpack and give it to the bag station to the left of the Basilica. Here a charge card was distributed, with which one must not line up at the Basilica. Really helped to save valuable time, especially during a short trip.
