isla bonita is quiet a big hotel with rooms in two blocks. we have been going to this hotel for the last 5 years twice a year we are a family of 2 adults and 6 children so iam sure you can understand that it is quite an undertaking to holiday at all with this size of a group, considering that when we started to visit adonis resorts that our eldest was 12 and the others were 8,7,5,3 and 2. since our first holiday here we would not dream of going anywhere else as my family are treated so well every time we are here...its as if we are visiting family for 2 weeks. this hotel is all inclusive which is a fantastic plus for any family as you dont have to keep putting your hand in your pocket for money for drinks ,snacks, icecrean etc....
we have never had a problem checking in or out and have always found the reception staff very helpful. yes there is a deposit of 60 euro per room for pool towels but to have this service available is a real bonus ....saves having to carry towels and washing towels as your towels can be exchanged for clean ones daily by the pool. the hotel as i said has two blocks and between this is the plaza area where evening entertainment takes place.there are 2 big pools...one in each block and 1 baby pool open to guests and 1 babby pool in the kids club area. pool a is a heated pool ,pool b isnt but you wouldnt really take much notice untill the winter months. we have never encountered a problem in getting sun loungers but we would always be down early to the pool. it was quite busy when we were last there in october 2011 and we found people were leaving towels on loungers all night which is quite annoying as it was always where the sun hit all day even though they may not arrive to the beds untill 1 or 2 pm...very inconsiderate. the rooms have been refurbished over the last year and are very nicely done..although i do miss the full length mirror inside the wardrobe door. rooms have a kitchenette which we dont use for cooking but the fridge is so handy for keeping drinks and chocolate in....and of course aftersun. you can get a kettle from reception and cups to make tea and coffee which is a must for me cos i am such an early riser. the rooms are cleaned daily and to a very high standard. the restaurant is downstairs from the plaza area and is lift accessible . we never have a problem getting tables and the food is a buffet style counters. breakfast runs from 7am till 10am,lunch from12 midday till 3pm and dinner is 6.30pm till 10 pm and seriously if you can eat at each meal time ..well done you because we found it impossible. they lay on such a vast array of foods at each meal that if yoy cannot find something to eat then you are very fussy. breakfast has fruits breads cereals and a hot counter, lunch and dinner have the most amazing salad bar, breads,at least 2 types of meat,1or 2 fish choices, veg and potatoe of some form....and of course the desert counter with that fabulous chocolate fountain...what more can i say. now i will say to watch when they are cooking chicken and steak as they tend to just cook it ...we always ask for it to be left on a bit longer and they dont mind at all. also when you go to eat and get your table i find it best if one person stays with the table just in case someone comes along and takes it ...you have to get your drinks, cutlery etc and leave them on your table to hold it but people wii still take it so best to leave 1 with it till u get back with your food.
we have taking full advantage of the games for guests during the day and i have to say that this is what makes the holiday for us. the animation team in this hotel work so hard to keep the guests entertained from 10am untill 11.30pm every day bar friday when they take a well deserved break. theses games include pistol shooting, archery, darts, pool games aqua gym, dancing with music by the pools, football, french boules and many more. there is also the most fabulous kiddies club for 4to 12 year olds which keeps them occupied with fun and games from 10am till 12.30 break for lunch then from 3pm till 5.30 pm. they are so good with the kids you would swear they were their own..evening entertainment starts with mini-disco and then the adults are catered for with either brilliant in house shows by the animation team or shows that travel the island hotels like the snake show, eagle show, gymnastic dancers , magic show ,fantastic puppet show, parrot show and i belive there is a brilliant new show dedicated to michael jackson....as with all allinclusive there are snacks by the pool at certain times of the day and both pools have a self service softdrink, tea, coffee and beer bar. the main bar in the plaza opens at 10 am till 11 pm service is always fast and a smile goes a long way as does the odd tip .
we met people of all ages and nationalitys......even though it is a very family orientated hotel there always seemed to be a wide variety of ages. overall we love this hotel but it is definately the animation team that bring us back year after year. we know they will be entertained and treated well for the duration of the holiday. what more could we ask for ..... this is a very clean ,friendly, and definately our home away from home without all the work.

isla bonita is approx 7 mins walk from the beach, i went for a run most mornings and without the kids could get to the beach in 3 mins ....fabulous beach and prom. the hotel is 5 mins in a taxi from san eugenio or 15 min walk. 2 mins from hotel is a fab shopping centre . there are too many excursions on this island to mention them all but all are reasonable. over the years what stands out for us is a trip to mount teide...great scenary, boat trip to see the dolphins and whales..kids loved it and of course lorro park in the north of the island about an hour and a half to 2 hours by bus but well worth it. a must is a trip to siam water park just 5 mins in a taxi but so much fun for all ages.

staff were always friendly...never had a problem...if anything they go out of their way to help in any way. the majority speak english and more languages and could hold a conversation. there is an onsite laundry room with reasonably priced machine wash which includes the powder... they have dryers but they reall are not needed as if you hang the clothes on the airer provided on all balconys they dry in no time.friends of ours needed a doctor for their son and withen 15 mins of letting reception know the doctor was at their room....excellent service when u have enough to worry about when your child i s sick. as for complaints ....if by chance we needed anything or the lady with the towels forgot to replenish the rooms withen 10 minutes of contacting recebtion ur towels were there . always prompt response to any queries.....fantastic staff.

Tips and recommendations

we never had a problem with our mobile phone coverage whilst in this hotel. excellent value for hotel and island. fab restaurants close to the hotel for theose special nights out. we usually travel mid june and late october as i dont like to go to any hotel when it is very busy during peak season. the weather is as good in october as it is in june usually around 26 to 28 degrees which is perfect for the kids. so go on give this place a shot we love it .
