Hotel Rio Playa Blanca

The beach is just a short stroll and you are given a key to a locked gate for even easier access. All bars, restaurants and shops are only a short walk a way and a lovely walk at that. We went to a place in the center to arrange an excursion around the volcanoes, which is brilliant and very good value for money.

All staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms were well kept and cleaned six out of seven days. When we arrived, it was late, but when we got to our room they had provided us with enough food to feed an army! which was a very grateful surprise.

There is one main restaurant but snacks available all day. As we were all inclusive you could drink and eat all day if you wanted. There were lots of different foods for everyone, my son only complained because the cheese wasn't cooked on his pizza enough! The dining areas were always clean and tidy even at busy times.

My children joined in most activities, especially the water polo and the football. Everyone had a great time joining in the entertainment, young and old. The pool was clean and plenty of sunbeds. The only downfall you may occur is that the entertainment finishes at 11 pm and then everyone seems to just disappear, but if you have children it was sometimes a blessing because we could get them to bed.

We up graded to a two bedroom bungalow and it was massive, and had two bathrooms. The only downfall was that the beds were very noisy, every time you moved it sounded like someone had fallen out of bed, but by the end of the stay I think we had all got used to it and it never effected any ones sleep.

The weather is lovely in the day and is a lot hotter that you think it is because of the breeze so you mustn't forget the sun cream regularly, but in the evening it is a lot cooler so a cardigan would be a good thing to take.
