A dream hotel where no wishes were left open *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel was in top condition, at entrance into the comfortable atmosphere, felt immediately welcome, the fragrance flowing through the whole house, caused by scented candles and perfumed incense sticks. The hotel was super clean,
It seemed that many regular guests took holiday there again (we will surely be regular too!!). Most of the tourists during our stay were without children, and the youngest were about mid twenties, the oldest mid seventy.
Included in the price was a good buffet breakfast, cakes and fruit buffet were in the afternoon, and several course menu dinner ....more about it later .
Location
The hotel was located near the city center of Seis at Schlern. It was only a short walk to the trolley which led to the Seiser Alm. The hotel was an ideal starting point for hikes and certainly also for skiers. Also bus stops nearby. The bus to Bolzano departed right in front of the door and cost per person only 3 € (one way). It is not worth it, to take the car.
Seis itself did not offer very much, a few stores were in the town center, including two sports stores with good offer especially for hikers and a Spar market, actually sufficient, because one didn't go to shop there. In addition towns such as Bozen, Brixen and Meran were close by if one definitely needed to go shopping.
There were a lot of hiking trails for beginners and advanced....all were located within walking distance from the hotel.
The guided hikes from the hotel were absolutely great.....one just had to join in ...
Already at check in, the holiday started right. One was offered a wet washcloth, bundled with a large flower on a silver tray decorated, welcomed by a friendly waiter. The female hotel manager greeted every vistor personally and was very cordial. With a glass of Prosecco one could relax briefly. The check in went very fast and uncomplicated.
All staff was super friendly and attentive, every wish was immediately filled, at meals special requests were fulfilled.
The rooms were fast, but excellently neat and cleaned. When we returned from breakfast, it was almost always ready.
Every morning on the breakfast table was a new hike suggestion with directions.
Gastronomy
The meals at this great hotel were really the best. For breakfast it had everything one needed, on request fresh fried eggs, cold meat, cheese, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, different homemade jams, fresh fruit, yoghurt, granola, different juices ... and...and...and
Afternoon from about 2:30 pm a dessert buffet presented and delicious beautiful cakes, not so sweet, but light and airy, fruit salad and fresh fruit....unresistable ...
For breakfast one could look at the menu card for the evening and decided between two hors-d'oeuvres, 2 main courses and two desserts. The main dish the kitchen decided, the first course was a very lavish salad and antipasti buffet.
The quality and the arrangment of the dishes was unique.
There was a Sunday gala dinner, with 6 courses, one more delicious than the other.
Alone because of the food it was worth it, to take a holiday at Ritterhof.
Sport & Entertainment
The great hiking tours, several times in the week led from the hotel, I already mentioned. They were really recommendable, and were a lot of fun.
The spa was a real relaxation oasis. On the stairs there were burning tealights, one was welcomed with relaxation music and candles were everywhere. The saunas were very well-kept, not very large, but that made everything also very comfortable. It was never overcrowded during our holiday and one always found a spot on a very comfortable still beach chair. After a busy hiking day this spa area would be the right place to relax.
Room
The rooms were bright and friendly with wooden furnishings. The beds ... they were simply great. They were large and the mattresses firm and very pleasant for laying. The blankets were very large and cuddly soft, in every room different pillows, there was something for everyone. We had a Suite Margaretha von Schwangau, about 40 sqm in size with a spacious balcony. There were enough clothes closets and chests of drawers for storage space. A table, large enough to play, and comfortable chairs made the holiday in the room very pleasant.
The bathroom was spacious, with sink, bidet, toilet and bathtub in which one could shower well, as a glass partition was available. The hair dryer was very efficient, unusual for a hotel hair dryer.
Everything was spotless clean....und that every single day!
There was no minibar, we also didn't miss it.
The hotel was soundproofed, we didn't hear any noise from the neighbors, the carpets in the hallways absorbed every walking noise. Lovely undisturbed sleep electrically adjustable shutters darkened the room completely.
The TV had all major German programs in good quality. WLan internet access was free to use the internet at any time. If one didn't have a laptop along, the PC in the hall could be used.
Tips and recommendations
We highly fully recommend this hotel. It was very comfortable, had a distinctive charm and we will definitely go back to the family Oberhofer and their many working hands.
