Perfect holidays in nice hotel
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe've stayed 11 days in Kalutara in Royal Palms Beach. Genrally, hotel is clean, staff is helpfull, of course, they are waiting for a small tip, but anyway, if you do not give them a tip, they are still smiling and ready to help.
Pool is quite big and clean.
Rooms as quite big and clean as well.
We really enjoyed the main restaurant and the variety and quality of the food with several theme evenings (we liked srilankian bbq and indian evenings - the food was really great). The beach was quite clean. Yes, you can not let the beach boys get you. They always try to offer you expensive trips, cigarettes...etc. But that's Sri Lanka, you can find them everywhere...What we recommend - royal coconuts for 100 rupies - they are great and we had at least one each day (ask the people on the beach).
We had only one car trip to elephant orpahanage for 10.000 rupies and it takes more than 3 hours to get there and the same time to get back (depite the fact it is only 80km far from the hotel).
