Das Sabai Beach liegt ca. 5 min. mit dem Taxi nördlich der Inselhauptstadt Thong Sala. Taxi kostet 50 Baht. Bei Ankunft kann man sich aber vom Besitzer abholen lassen. Er hat uns sogar bei Abreise morgens zur Fähre gebracht. Der Strand ist traumhaft, mit Palmen und Bäumen bewachsen, daher auch genug Schatten vorhanden. Morgens wird man in den Beach Front Bungalows vom Meeresrauschen geweckt, da das Wasser nur ca. 10 m entfernt ist. Relaxen kann man auf der eigenen Terrasse oder in den vorhandenen Liegestühlen oder Hängematten. Essen im Restaurant ist sehr gut, viel Auswahl und günstig (Gerichte von 60 bis 150 Baht). Dafür sind die Bungalows nicht die billigsten, aber der Preis von 900 Baht schien uns gerechtfertigt. Die Bungalows sind ausreichend groß, sauber, stabil und mit Ventilator und Klimaanlage. Für manchen Geschmack stehen sie vielleicht etwas zu dicht beieinander, was uns aber nicht gestört hat. Die Atmosphäre ist familiär geprägt, die Besitzer sind sehr nett und auch immer hilfsbereit oder offen für Fragen. Möglichkeit zum Ausleihen von Motorrollern vorhanden. In der unmittelbaren Umgebung ist unterhaltungsmäßig nicht viel geboten, aber dazu kann man nach Thong Sala fahren oder in den Süden an den Haad Rin, wo auch die Full Moon Parties stattfinden. Wir fanden es eher geeignet für einen wunderbar erholsamen Relax-Aufenthalt.
