this was the nicest poshest place we stayed in and with discounts, and careful choice of dates was really not that expensive. They had everything. It was superb. The check-in people were great. Housekeeping marvellous. Ah yes, the only negative is that as a older hotel (not that you could tell from the modern everything) they had to be careful with what electrical things you had in your room, so I don't think you could iron for yourself, and I don't think they had tea/coffee maker, but they had a huge tv, and a huge fruit platter in the room. the bedding materials were beyond deluxe. The room was enormous. The bathroom was just amazing. And we had a balcony overlooking the little lake.

just off the main street, very close to the train station.
frequent buses stop very close to the hotel.
so excellent location

this is a really posh place. we had to ask for help on a few things, or to order drinks or corkage or something like that. Service was always utterly excellent. We were welcomed even though we weren't quite as posh as most of the guests and we just couldn't quite believe how nice and how posh it was.

Gastronomy Unused

rather than pay what it costs to eat in the hotel (a lot), we went across the road to an amazing little cafe-bakery on one day, and I think we ate breakfast on the other days on the train.

Sport & Entertainment Unused

The details are called out on their website.
We didn't have time.
We were in the area for the hiking and to see tha National Park and the old Frau kloster at Müstair

given that the electrics were old such that we could not have an iron or tea/coffe maker, the room was palatial. This was the nicest, poshest, most comfortable place we stayed at in the entire of our trip. Your mileage may differ. I mean we had a wonderful view. The room - and it was 'just' a room, was bigger than some apartments we have lived in. Marvellous.

Tips and recommendations

this was posh. you can get in reasonably cheaply by choosing your dates carefully and by using discount codes/affinity rates. This is well located for the train and the buses.
We visited Diavolezza for a glacier hike, we went to the national park, we even managed to fit in the railway walk from Bergun-Preda and we went down to Italy on the Heidiland Bernina Express I think. - I think some activities we'd planned to do from St Moritz we had to switch with some we'd planned to do from Davos because of the weather, we got drenched more than once but this is a really cool place to stay in Davos if you can go when the rates are reduced.

Legend: 6 suns= excellent… 1 sun= very poor
