Very nice hotel, but not when events were taking place *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel was being expanded at the time. Although the gym and the hot springs had to be paid, the atmosphere was nice.
The hotel, the rooms and the entire area were very clean.
We didn't book any food, but breakfast was offered for 13 euros per person.
The hotel was very empty most of the time, except on the weekend when 2 weddings were taking place. Then, it immediately got very loud, all night, which made it impossible to sleep.
Location
The beach was about 15-20 minutes away by car. The hotel didn't belong to Mazarron anymore, and the only thing nearby except for the golf course were holiday bungalows which were mainly occupied by British guests.
A supermarket could be reached in 5 min by car. On foot, it would have taken much longer (we didn't try it) and tiring because you would have had to walk down one hill first and then up the other one again.
The airport was about 120km away. That wasn't really feasible without a car as I hadn't seen any public transport there.
The staff was quite friendly and always tried to speak English with us instead of Spanish.
Complaints (about the noise at the weddings) were indeed taken note of, but they didn't do anything against it in the second night either, although it could have helped to change the room, they just could have sent us to a room farther away from the party.
Gastronomy Unused
Sport & Entertainment
There was a big, nice outdoor pool which could be used for free, including towels, pool chairs and umbrellas.
The spa and the gym could only be used for an extra charge (we didn't use them).
WLAN was available in the hotel for free.
Room
The rooms fit the 4 star standard, were big enough and came with a flat screen TV. The bathrooms were very clean too. Every room had a balcony and came with an air conditioning and a telephone. The mini bar with soft drinks was available for free. Unfortunately, there was no coffee machine or water kettle!
The hotel was still quite new and was partly being expanded.
Tips and recommendations
You would be lost here without a car.
You should take a room in one of the side wings, otherwise you wouldn't have any chance to get some sleep if there were events taking place, our room was, for example, just 2 floors above the bar without a ceiling separating the floors. Therefore, we had 2 sleepless nights.
The weather was very nice for October (more than 25°C).
If you hadn't booked breakfast, you could have cheap coffee or café cortado (1 euro) in the golf club opposite of the hotel.
