Hotel Sheraton Algarve

It is right on the long sandy beach above the cliffs. The beach is with elevator and a well designed wooden catwalk with several staircases. Opposite the hotel there were a few restaurants, a supermarket and smaller stores. On entering Vilamoura you can walk along the beachfront (a good hour walk). Albufeira and other places are with the regular bus service (opposite the hotel Haltetstelle), taxi or by car. For the rental car was always easy parking (free) about the hotel.

The service at the front desk let a little to be desired. Other than that, the service was (in the room, restaurants, bars) perfect. The best English as a foreign language worked. For my birthday there was a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine to our room. On the last day we were given the opportunity our laundry for a very fair price to wash. (Not used) a shuttle bus service runs regularly the compound. When we didn't like the constant advertising, an apartment at the resort to rent to buy respectively. We were never right on it, but was each label shall) (for example) give you an advertisement.

The hotel has lots of restaurants. Unfortunately most closed seasonally, cyclically (including sushi bar, Portuguese restaurant, grill restaurant). The evening buffet had always a different theme. There were soup, wide variety of hot and cold starters, 4 hot entrees, occasionally show-cooking, cheese platter and dessert choices. The food was OK, sadly often the same and pretty basic dishes (considering that it is a 5 stars). The service was exemplary. The breakfast was plentiful and varied. The service was a bit hectic.

The outdoor pool looked all great welcoming and in top condition, but it was way too cold to use them. The indoor pool was an excellent for swimming laps, but he was too deep to pure splash and play. The hot tub is sand, so I did not use it. The sauna is small and basic. The hotel is especially for golf. It features a child care, which with a well as entertainement aorund mini golf and all the trimmings for the kids. Each evening there is live music of different kinds.

The room was lovely big with huge bed, clean marble bathroom and separate toilet room with bidet. The balcony was very inviting with table and chair in Bambusoptik. Fairly large flat screen television. Mini-bar with plenty of choice. peep hole. Walk-in closet with free safe.
