Hotel Sheraton Miramar Resort

The hotel was only a few minutes from the city center of El Gouna away, embedded into a laguna landscape. There was a shuttle bus or boat at regular intervals going to the harbor and the center at a small charge, otherwise there were also always tok toks, which were going everywhere at a fixed rate per person. There were several supermarkets in El Gouna and all kinds of souvenir shops. Port Marina alone is already worth seeing with its many yachts and there was an atmosphere like at the Côte d'Azur. The boutiques in Marina were partly very exclusive and thus were very expensive.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and courteous. The service worked also without tips, which of course were gladly received however. There were sufficient places available everywhere, even if one had to wait 5 minutes sometimes on the smoker terrace until a table was empty. Outdoor terraces and indoor area were divided into smoker and nonsmoker sections. The service staff spoke usually English, but in addition, partially German.
The room cleaning was so far ok except for little things like e.g. the glass shelf above the mini bar and the mirror in the bathroom.
I liked it also a lot that the bed sheets were changed really only if desired and one really did something for the environment here.

There was a main restaurant divided into indoor and outdoor areas, and both again divided into smoker and nonsmoker areas. Besides there was an oriental restaurant at the Family Beach and an Italian at the main pool and still 2 further beach bars. With all inclusive, lunch was ordered from a menu in the Orient or Italian restaurant and even at the beach, which was freshly prepared and served.

The activities were very discreet and only took place at the pool. In the hotel there were a few souvenir stores which were more expensive than in El Gouna though. There was a main pool, 2 smaller pools for relaxing and a kids pool in an appealing atmosphere. The beaches were spread out around the area but only the Miramar beach also had an ocean access. At low tide you could walk over the whole reef plate up to the edge. The only minus point for me was that the hotels reef was in a bad conditon and also at the front of the jetty you only saw very few fish. I had the impression that this was linked to the water quality. There were enough beach chairs everywhere, the towels were brought to you directly and collected again. In all the sections there were showers and clean toilets.

The rooms were very spacious and comfortably furnished. There is a large offer of drinks in the mini bar included in all inclusive and it got daily refilled.
There was also a water heater available, with which you can prepare coffee and tea. The TV with flat screen also received enough channels. The highlight was the large terrace with the pool chairs. If you have a room on the ground floor, you can theoretically directly go into to laguna to swim.

Whoever must telephone a lot, bought with Mobinil in El Gouna an Egyptian sim card, which cost 5 LE and a credit and could avoid the expensive roamings.
Whoever wanted to snorkel, it was the best on the diving boat. Careful best inquire whether the route was also suitable for snorkelers.
