Hotel Sidi Mansour only again under circumstances *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel only sort of accorded to a 4 star building.
The hotel as well as the area as well as the rooms were in quite a good condition. Concerning the catering this was very uniform so that after a few days you didn't have an apetite anymore. The guest structure was made up like this: 80% French, 10% Italian and 10% the rest. From the age all age groups were represented. The beach was always dirty from algae and trash for the whole 14 days.
If you complained about it nobody felt responsible.
Location
The beach was about 600 meters away from the hotel.
There was a carriage transfer which was very unreliable though. The next town Midoun could be reached by taxi in about 10 minutes. A small supermarket opposite the area. The next disco was about 2 kilometers away from the hotel.
Concerning the service staff of the hotel they were really always lovely, nice and obliging.
There were of course occasional language barriers which you could solve with English though.
Gastronomy
Here I will repeat what I said above already. The kitchen had a different country every day, except German but the food was always the same.
Despite that you always found something to eat even if it was only desserts and baguettes.
Sport & Entertainment
The leisure time and sport offer at the pool you could completely forget. It was the activity staffs fault.
They only cared about the French guests. The rest of the guests were just ignored. That went so far that the activity staff manager verbaly abused my daughter and insulted her.
Because of the loud music at the pool a lot of guests fled to the beach which was completely dirty.
But at least you had some peace there.
Room
The rooms were furnished typical of the country and because of that easy to live in. The room cleaning was always alright as was the daily changing of towels.
Tips and recommendations
For families with small children quite unsuitable as there was a kids pool but there weren't any steps and for infants it was much too deep.
My conclusion because of that: the hotel you could only recommend on conditiongs. And that comes from someone who is a Djerba tourist since 1996 and has got to know a few hotels.
