Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThis was our 9th time at the siva grand beach hotel. We love the hotel. Since our last stay in April 2008 there have been a number of changes which have improved the hotel. The atmosphere is a lot more relaxed and friendly. The staff all seem to love working there now. The changes tio the beach are also good. The nets in the sea have improved the cleanliness of the beach. We would definately recommend the new fish restaurant. We had a lovely romantic evening there and the food was excellent. The gardens are beautiful and the hotel itself is spotlessly clean.
Location
The hotel has its own beautifully kept beach and lovely swimming pools. Hotel is ideally situated and the transfer time from the airport is only about 15 mins. There are shops and restaurants close by and if you fancy travelling into town taxis are readily available.
Service at this hotel cannot be faulted. It is excellent. Would recommend the laundry service, good service and reasonably priced. Would like to thank the following staff who helped to make our holiday special - Mr Moshem - food and beverage manager - a true gentleman and good friend who is respected by all his staff. Mohamed Al Aziz - Manager of lobby bar - another true gentleman and good friend - his staff give excellent service. Mahmoud - cocktail bar - excellent service. Ahmed - top bar - excellent service
Gomma - restauarant Manager and Haridy - Waiter - Excellent service. The staff at pool bar - excellent service. Special thanks to the 2 young Ahmeds and Aziz who kept the drinks coming and were very charming
Gastronomy
There is something for everyone. Good choice of foods. Very clean and tidy. Can sometimes get busy. Maybe a reservation service would help.
Sport & Entertainment
Pool and pool area is excellent and very clean and tidy. Plenty of sunbeds and parasols. Pool bar gives excellent service. A wide range of sports and games are available. The animation team this time were not so good as previous years. The night time entertainment was not so good. There were not so may shows. When we have been before there was a different show every night. This was not the case this time. The same shows were shown every week.
Room
Excellent rooms. Excellent house keeping. Towels changed daily. Air conditioning is great after a day in the sun. Sadly there are only a few rooms assigned to english tour operators. If you are looking for english company then this hotel is not for you. Hopefully in the future more rooms will be offered to english guests which will make it easier to book. As it stands we have to book well in advance to guarentee a room in this superb hotel.
Tips and recommendations
We normally go to egypt in april or towards the end of september. This time we went the first 2 weeks in september. It was about 38 degrees every day. It is a little cooler towards the end of the month which makes it more bareable. We have been in december before. The temperature is still in the 20's but can get a little chilly at night. An excellent destination for all year sunshine.
