Really beautiful old colonial mansion
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AI stayed at Hotel Spa Granada for a couple days with my boyfriend as we were traveling through Nicaragua. First of all, the building is beautiful and very large- it's an old colonial mansion that was converted into a hotel. I talked to the cuidador and apparently all the tiling, roofing, etc, is original. It's really impressive looking. I stayed in one of the larger rooms with a king-size bed, which was definitely one of the more comfy bed situations I had while traveling through Nicaragua. The air conditioning is pretty key because Granada gets hot, at least the time of year I was there. There's also cable tv and free wifi. The hotel has a pool with a bar that guests can use for free (people not staying at the hotel can pay to use it also). It's a bit pricier than some of the other hotels, but you get what you pay for and it's definitely worth it if you want a comfortable stay.
