Nice and clean hotel
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AInitially we booked only 2 days as we wanted to be sure about the environment. As the neighbourhood is quiet (no dancings etc) and as the manager and his mother do a nice job, we stayed there during the whole trip.
Breakfast can be taken inside when it is cold or next to the pool. Lunches are not available.
The swimming pool and the whole hotel is nice and clean. The architecture of the hotel is very attractive indeed; the photos on the hotels website are not fake.
The room we stayed in was at the top of the new building (7 years old) with some sea view. The room was large, with a fridge and a small cooking area. A terrace with a small table is available to eat outside.
Location
The hotel is located in walking distance of the whole Naxos town and the beach.
The manager and his mother do a nice job, we stayed there during the whole trip. Each morning we were welcomed at the buffet breakfast with a smile and "Kalimera, how are you today?" Both speak enough English to respond at all your desires and give you a family atmosphere where you feel welcome.
Also the cleaning personnel deserve good points: very friendly.
The maps with touristic information are limited.
Gastronomy
Everything is clean. The breakfest is simple. No real measl are served.
Sport & Entertainment
The pool is not too large, but OK to have some swimming to cool down. It is rather deep for kids that can't swim yet.
The wather was very clean.
Room
The room is large, with a decent fridge. One large cooking plate and a very small one.
Tips and recommendations
In May 2007 we stayed 10 days, first 6 days plain sun, not a single cloud, then one gray day followed by one with plenty of rain, the last two days ware sunny with clouds around the mountains. The rainy day was cold (17 Celcius). Otherwise, quite nice temperature, still suited to hike.
The wind was acceptable, but I must admit I watched from where the wind came and when we visieted a beach, we went to the side of the island that was off-wind.
Hiking paths are not (or almost not) indicated, be sure to have a good map.
