So-so! *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe area was already about 40 years old as visitors who visited the hotel for many years told us. In spring 2009, it was sold to a man from Israel. Since then, they saved everywhere and obviously many employees had been dismissed. Many things needed renovation when we were there - rooms and hotel. In the dining room for example, it dripped from the ceiling at many places.
We thought the cleanliness of the area was actually okay. The rooms could have been cleaned a bit better. Especially in the corners!
We booked all inclusive. NOT recommended! The food was very poor! We ate out several times! The dining room was in the basement just like the theater and the night bar - we didn't feel comfortable down there.
There were many British guests. During our stay, the hotel was nearly empty.
Location
The location was ideal. It took only few minutes to get to the beach or the little village with many (partly very good) shopping possibilities. But the hotel was still situated at a quiet side streeet and you didn't have any noise pollution at all at night.
The staff had a few knowledges in international languages (the receptionists had better knowledges). There were employees who were friendly but most of them were very grumpy and partly also impolite. You better not ordered another white wine shortly before 6 pm if the bottle just happened to be empty...
There was a bar in the pool area which should have opened at 10 am - this wasn't always the case - but they closed at 6 pm on time! Very much on time!
After 6 pm, the night bar in the theater obviously already opened. But its location was extemely bad. In the basement with walls on 3 sides, absolutely no view to the pool area or anything like that. We never sat there.
Gastronomy
There was a restaurant - it seemed more like a cafeteria. The dishes were prepared very lovelessly - we didn't like them. There was a very small choice. At maximum one type of vegetable, one meat, one fish, one soup. The dessert was rice pudding every day! Wine from the dispenser. Paper tablecloths. There only glasses for the wine in the evening - during the day, everything was in beakers. Crockery wasn't always clean.
The kids buffet was closed during our stay.
They probably cooked nearly everything in British style - that wasn't for us!
Sometimes they offered fried and scrambled eggs for breakfast. We always got the same, extremely dry and rock-hard toast. Unreasonable! We already suspected that the cook wanted to show us what 'hard bread' means.
There was no atmosphere in the dining room at all!
As I said, we ate out several times despite all inclusive.
Sport & Entertainment
The entertainment team did their best and was very nice. Unfortunately, there were only few guests and so, many games didn't take place. The volleyball field should have been fenced in since the ball regularly flew on the street or to the neighboring hotel area.
The pool areas were relatively clean. The pool chairs were uncomfortable. Umbrellas were put up fix - you couldn't move them.
The beach chairs at the quite small beach were relatively expensive. There was only one shower down there and that one didn't work. No toilets. Two beach bars.
Room
The apartments were spacious - but they could have been cleaned better. Service 5 times a week. Bedsheets were changed twice a week. They smelt musty.
The apartments needed renovation. There was no air-conditioning and no fan. Sometimes, it was very hot at night - I wouldn't want to lie in these rooms during peak summer! TV reception was bad. There weren't many international channels. It seemed that the administration put much more importance into selling as many apartments as possible to private people. There was a show room which was newly renovated and furnished in a very modern way. Nothing for us.
Tips and recommendations
By no means book all inclusive - it wasn't worth it!
