Perfect hotel for Edinburgh to discover! *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel is a mix of tourists and business people use. It is modern, newly and regarding the cleanliness there was nothing to complain about. We only with breakfast so that we are independent. The guests who we saw arrived - as we realized - mainly from the UK. German but also some. of all ages were there.
Location
From Waverley Bridge, where we with the Airport bus arrived for not a lot of money we took a taxi and were a few minutes from the hotel, on the way back. The location is absolutely recommendable. The hotel is located in a quiet side street South Bridge/Nicholson Street. This it easy and quick walk to the heart of the old town (Royal Mile, Castle, Grassmarket) but also to the shops of Princes Street. Those who didn't want to could also bus stops are very close by. Literally 'around the corner'is a Kentucky Fried chicken and even a Lidl. Likewise, one found many of these small stores where you magazines, foodstuffs etc. Can buy. On the way to the Royal Mile plenty of nearby restaurants, snacks and bars. The hotel but also Edinburgh generally are perfect for exploring Scotland. We stayed with Timberbush tours and Heart of Scotland tours booked Eintages-disfunctional furnishement (Hadrians Wall Oban Trossachs etc. ). So all in all what you get is especially the first Scotland-visit a great overview! For info on site is the tourist information on Waverley station recommended.
The staff was always friendly. We only spoke English called serveral despite not perfect english no problem. The rooms were always clean and tidy. We didn't use additional services which we can't comment further. Our 1. And planned stay was from 25.05 . -28.05.2009 . For the 30.05 . -03.06 . we had originally booked in at another hotel, but turned out to be catastrophic (Herald House hotel). Then we desperately for a replacement-hotel we stay at Ten Hill Place. You really helped us out and is based on our previous stay even accomodated in the price a bit. We found that great! We had the 1 . A standard double room. A superior double room. Both categories are immaculate and our description is available on both alike accurate.

There was a dining room on the ground floor in the very open and friendly. He apparently also serves evening as a bar/lounge area. However, as we only booked breakfast and took advantage of we can only say,: wide selection, typically British but also with cheese, sausages, cereals, yogurt, fruit. Everything was delicious and clean, we were completely satisfied.

Room
Our standard double room was the size of it perfectly adequate. The decor is new, comfortable, and cozy. The bathroom was generous, a modern LCD TV with British TV was available. We didn't use the air conditioner. There was a water heater with tea, a safe and a telephone. Which is great: in the closet is an iron which we often and gladly taken around in your suitcase wrinkled clothes short to work. The rooms were always clean and tidy. The view was Queens Drive or the local mountain/hill and was very nice. The second stay booked superior room was again a number of course larger with extra, comfy sofa part at the foot of the bed. Otherwise, it was equipped just as the standard room. It was a little bit due Ecklage brighter.
Tips and recommendations
The rates especially at the food and drink are more expensive than in Germany. Nevertheless, we decided to book only breakfast in the hotel and would make it as well. The time at the end of May/early June for us was a complete success, as the weather was perfect. It just once rained and the was in our trip to the Hadrians Wall, who we know in England. This made our (Scottish) tour guides to a neckischen note confines. However, it is recommend that you should a raincoat einpackt, because you never know which comes. But you should actually be aware, when it comes to Scotland. We stayed at the 02.06 . The Castle, visited (definitely recommendable! ) and could so unexpected on the Jubilee of queen. This has been SHOTS from the guns Once a military parade ground, it retains the Castles and impressive celebrates, which we loved. Next to the Castles itself has several mostly militägeschichtliche museums (at the Castle-written) so you can spend a bit of time. The Castle is located by the whisky-Museum which I would recommend. In good weather you shouldn't a sightseeing tour with free double decker bus to miss. You could spend all day and for the various stops after mood and hop. It also has a German commentary on the via headphones attractions can hear. The Princes Street invites wonderful for strolling and shopping. There are as well as on the Royal Mile a variety of restaurants and snacks to find. Otherwise there was so much to see that it would safe too much everything note here. We saw a lot and safe but not everything. Edinburgh is definitely great and we will likely return! In any case before you "Http: Wavering international. Visitscotland. Com/de/" or for a hotel in Edinburgh "Http: Wavering citygateways. Visitscotland. Com/de/edinburgh/" (everything in German). We had a lot of information has been found and could have previously planning! Really great these pages!
