Hotel Tharerwirt

Valdaora/Olang is a nice village in the Dolomites, traffic is almost zero, the Hotel is in the center of the village, so all the services are just a few steps away from the Hotel lobby. In winter you can forget about your car, a free ski bus stops in front of the hotel and takes you in 5 minutes to the fantastic Kronplatz ski resort.
If you are arriving by train they can arrange a taxi to pick you up, it is a 3 minutes drive from the station to the hotel.

Expect the maximum from all the staff, everybody is Friendly and competent, everybody has a smile for you. You will fill as a guest rather than a customer. This is a Tyrolean family Hotel, you will see the owners every day. Everybody speaks fluent Italian and German, I am sure they speak English too.
In the lobby there is plenty of information about activities, weather forecast.

There is a bar and a restaurant reserved to guests. There is also a small cozy restaurant normally used by other customers. Cleaniness is at the maximum levels everywhere, cousin is Italian with a lot of regional variations. Breakfast is incredibly various, Salad Buffet before Dinner is a Dinner itself. Quantity is always more than enough for everybody.

There is a SPA at the Hotel with whirlpool and a small pool for children In summer you get free admission to the Olang public swimming pool.
Ther is a very nice room where children can play without disturbing the other guests. They have a good massage service.

Expect a lot. A and B rooms deserve 3 to 4 stars, and most of them have a new bathroom. Everything is very clean and in perfect efficiency.
The tyrolean rooms are so good and brand new that you can hardly find similar rooms in a 5* hotel. I have seen "suites" which are much smaller than these giant rooms.
The suites are kind of apartments, some are on two floors with internal stairs.

I would recommend this hotel both in Summer and Winter, I have been there several times and willing to continue to get there. Great value for money.
