Nice location, but with drawbacks and no five stars *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe atmosphere in the lobby and bar area was very welcoming, open, and airy Asian-minimalist, the room then disappoint but, are on the small side, getting old, do not have a special atmosphere and especially the bathrooms are in need of renovation, certainly no five stars. The staff we experienced differently, partly very hard (room service, also in the restaurant), but bored and not very welcoming. Often seemed a bit disorganized and the service you had to wait up to a half hour for a drink, although there is enough staff. The breakfast and dinner was good, but a little variation was missing for five stars (for example, the breakfast was always the same fruit), evening have often missed the typical local dishes, who wants to lasagna, if he is in Sri Lanka? The sea is very rough, there was always the red flag set, so not really suitable for swimming. But the pool is very large and is also, swim laps. Also the many crows nerves, particularly their faeces drop you everywhere. Guests were very mixed, both the old as well as quality is concerned. Next time, we would book a beach resort in the South, and it is rather a smaller resort select. Unfortunately, mostly in Sri Lanka, the really big city hotels with a service, you can stay, without some of the country to become acquainted with. We had had a round trip and spent a few days in Galle, the island is beautiful!
