It was better before *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel was earlier the best place to relax. Despite its less attractive location (next to a desalination industry) it was a secluded haven of peace. Unfortunately, the (very ) nearby airport was expanded and the local Airline OmanAir expanded enormously. In addition older Russian design airplanes, thundered over the hotel.
We were on the 3rd holiday at the Chedi, this time it disturbed us, that the windows couldn't be opened and the air conditioner did not exchange the air sufficiently. Continuously disturbing, were the tourists who arrived before 2pm, who had no decent place where they could wait.
Otherwise, the hotel was regarding service, cleanliness, kitchen etc. best. Even if it was fully booked, because of the extensive size the many tourists at the area weren't noticed at all.
Beach and ocean were however not highly recommended.
Location
Despite its less attractive location (next to a desalination industry) it was today no longer a secluded haven of peace. The (very ) nearby airport is being expanded and the local airline OmanAir was growing massively. In addition older Russian design airplanes, thundered over the hotel.
There was really nothing to complain about
Gastronomy
The quality of the offered dishes was excellent; the main restaurant menu card for tourists staying longer in the main restaurant, was a bit scant.
The Arab Court for lovers of the Arabian food was highly recommended.
Sport & Entertainment
There were two pools, one only for people aged 16, which made the surroundings peaceful (except for the noise from above).
Room
The rooms were normal sized; unusual was right at the entrance a combined bathroom, walk-in closet. It was all very open, but stylishly furnished. The windows were not openable; the air conditioner didn't help anything, so the air was always stale.
Tips and recommendations
Best travel time was spring and fall, in the summer there were adventurous temperatures. Muscat was one of the hottest cities in the world.
