Hotel The Sands At Chale Island

After a 2 hour's drive by bus and a 5 minutes' ride by boat, we arrived on the dream island. Friendly welcome with good information.

Great service. Everybody was very friendly and attentive. The bandas were cleaned twice a day. The island was under very good management at the time.

The main restaurant was cozy and casual - men could wear shorts for the meals (comfortable at this heat). There was enough food which was very good. Fresh fish was always freshly prepared right here, and pasta was always offered too, of course (as it was an island for Italians). Everything was very clean. Tips were very gladly taken.

A little gym, sometimes beach volleyball, canoeing, but not many other sports possibilities. A nice, quiet pool.
The beach was regularly cleaned because the strong tides resulted in much seaweed being washed ashore. Very comfortable beach chairs with cushions and umbrellas, of course. The internet could be used for free. A little library with lots of books.

We had a Superior Banda - very big and comfortable, even with a bed on the terrace. A big bathroom with an open-air shower, a TV and a CD player (bring you own CDs). The power was turned off between 10am and 6.30pm, though.

We had beautiful weather early in September. A very big advantage of the island - no annoying beach vendors. An island for relaxing with a lot of peace and quiet and sweet idleness.
