The perfect location for honeymooners
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe have been on our honeymoon to Tokoriki Island Ressorts in a Sunset Pool Villa. Never have we experienced such friendly staff before. They sing a welcome song for everyone who arrives to the island and a farewell song for those who leave. Staff always has a smile on their face and welcome you with a warm "BULA".
The Sunset Pool Villas are just spectacular. They offer a private pool and spacious veranda with a direct view to the South Pacific (sunset). On the beach however they sometime have a problem with seaweed (as on every Fiji island). The staff is very eager to remove all seaweed on the very same day it gets to the beach.
The surroundings especially the Tokoriki home reef is just mind blowing. Get a fish map, an underwater camera (available at the small store at the reception) and your snorkelling gear and plunge into the warm water to see the most colourful fish you have ever seen. It's like swimming in an aquarium. Do not forget to climb the hill behind the resort towards the white wooden cross to see the reef from above.
Also take your time to visit the nearby Castaway Island (Monuriki), where Tom Hank's movie "Cast Away" was made. If you're looking for more privacy and romantic experience, book a trip to a more isolated island and beach and let the staff prepare a picnic for you with a bottle of Moet Chandon. You will be amazed. And if that's not enough, the romantic package also includes a full body massage (appx. 45 mins) for both of you.
Last but not least, visit the nearby Fiji village where most of the staff of Tokoriki Islands Ressort live. They will invite you to an authentic Kava ceremony and tell stories about their lives without electric power and just little water. It makes you see things differently, especially while staying in such a luxurious ressort like the Tokoriki Island Ressort.
