Fantastic hotel and great holiday - with some flaws *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel was only opened this year and it's noticeable. Absolutely fab room, really large and all furnishings in top condition.
There's a main road right outside, but you don't really notice it, although you have to cross it to get to Basar 1km away. Or you could always just take the bus to Alanya, which costs approximately £2 and stops directly in front of the hotel.
The only thing you have to go without is a walk along the beach, since the 50m section isn't really suitable for that! But we knew this even before booking. There were plenty of loungers on the beach and by the pool and on the pier. There were a bit close together, but ourselves and some other guests soon put things right by moving things around and there was plenty of space.
We had no issue with the other guests.
Location
As we said, the hotel is directly on a main road, but this never bothered us. Behind the hotel is the hotel's beach, which is small and pebbly, but if you go onto the pier you could choose one of six ladders to get into the sea. We also made good use of the loungers there.
The only place to go shopping for us was 1km from the hotel and you had to get over the main road to get to it. There was a bazaar with lots of shops, pharmacies and two bigger shops, where you could get money out. You could also take the bus to Alanya, which stopped directly in front of the hotel and cost about £2. You could book excursions directly through the tour operator, or via a stand on the hotel beach.
The staff were really friendly; some of the guests could have taken a leaf out of their book. Perhaps you were treated according to how you treated the staff, since several others weren't treated as nicely as we were. Any complaints were immediately taken on board and solved totally to our satisfaction.

The hotel had themed restaurants available. Unfortunately you could only get a table by reserving it in advance, which you had to do the day before between 10-12. We didn't use this service anyway, since when we phoned at 10:15 there were no more tables left. We only knew this because the personnel responsible for taking reservations weren't there anymore.
Otherwise the food and drinks were really good. There was an elaborate buffet and anyone who doesn't like it must be a fussy easter. Clearly plenty will now complain that it was the same kind of thing each day, but I think if I get rice, pasta and potatoes on offer each day then I've got plenty of variation: it's not like I eat all three of them together each time!
Sport & Entertainment
I'd like to give the entertainment team high praise! Their evening shows were just great. In addition, there were other activities on offer throughout the day.
Concerning noise levels at the pool at night...maybe it would disturb some people, but it didn't really bug me. I only found it annoying when the entertainment or sports activities were being announced.
We didn't have any kids with us, but we still thought it was good that there was a daily kids disco. The little ones really seemed to enjoy it and even the parents seemed to have a great time too.
Room
Our rooms were very spacious and had sea views. My room was kind of hidden in the corner and thus it has a great view straight into a blue wall, but luckily when I went onto the balcony I could see past the building to the beach, the pier and the ocean. In any case, none of this bothered me since I spent little time in my room.
Whoever cleaned my room (1209) was fantastic - always funny cleaned and tidied and the minibar was always refilled daily.
Tips and recommendations
I didn't use my mobile, so can't comment on the reception. We took two lovely boat trips, which was highly recommend. One of the was the Thomas Cook Deluxe, which we booked through our tour operator. In this one we sailed out and anchored at various places to go swimming in the sea or just to relax. We had about 40 people on the boat with us, though there was space for 125 and it was a great day. The second one was a trip to Alanya, which we booked directly on the beach in front of the hotel. We sailed to Alanya and were let off for about an hour to shop. We then went to a pirate cove and love cove and stopped twice to swim. On the way back we were luckily enough to see some dolphins. Another great day!
