Hotel Viva Cala Mesquida Park

The beach could be reached over stairs or a somewhat longer ground level path. The beach was at a beautiful nature protected area. The waves were too high on 66% of the days for swimming. The whole area consisted only basically of the “Viva Mesquida” - area + two stores and two abandoned restaurants + bars. In the vicinity were still a few private houses.

The service was very friendly in the dining room. Check in and reception were rather unfriendly (check in could be completed only after 1. 5 hours despite the empty room; we were led to the wrong building; bag boys were in short supply). Room change cost 21 €. A crib 5. 50 € per night. The check out extension to 3 pm 19 €, the rental safe 16. 50€ weekly. For my taste somewhat too much a rip-off.

The food was good. One could not expect gourmet meals. There were always 1-2 things, which were delicious. There were always fries, noodles, pizza (those however rather bad) and ice cream for the children. The juices, coffee, wine and the cocktails were of low quality, but just still enjoyable. In the second week the hotel was fully booked out, which led to longer lines during the breakfast and dinner.

The pool in the park was somewhat more still and greener (beautiful green lawn for beach chairs), but smaller than the pool in the club. Both pools could be visited. In the flat area 6 (comfort) there was again a small pool and a baby pool. The baby pool in the area 6 was the most beautiful; in addition the rooms were not far from the pool (=babyphone for lunch peace). The mini disco was rather something boring, the children watched more, than dancing along. The mini club was good (standard program: Pirate day, Indian day, magic day, Disney day, T-Shirt painting etc.). The mountain biking and the Nordic Walking in the protected nature area were recommended as alternation. The mountain biking was however more than a nice bike tour; it went over sand and gravel .

The bathroom was somewhat too small. The beds could have been somewhat firmer. The partitions (bedroom area + studio with small built in kitchenette) was good. There were ground floor rooms and rooms in the first floor in the flat area 1-5.

The park was still and greener than the club. The rooms were better reachable. The park was only separated from a road to the club. The park was for us definitely a better choice. We had to pay 77 € for the crib. But one could bring along his own.
