Nice Hotel with friendly staff *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel condition has remained the same as written in all the prospects.
Three pools.
One for sport, one for relaxation and one for entertainment.
We had understood there were three types of rooms.
Standard rooms small without TV, superior with yard view and superior with sea view.
We had superior with yard view. Although we could partly see the sea from our balcony.
It was a matter of chance what type of room one had. Pictures are too.
The hotel was not very large. And was well built and planned.
The room conditions were in order, but not as perfect as we had expected. One saw in the pictures.
Cleanliness could be better. In the rooms mildew was below the air conditioner. Although it didn't bother us as we only slept in the rooms.
The average age of the guests varied as there were young and elder.
There were mostly British tourists.
Location
This was the closest hotel to the airport. And also to Mombasa City.
It was 30 min to the airport.
10 minutes by car to the large shopping center.
15 minutes by taxi (5 Euro) to the Disco (Tambo).
We enjoyed and would recommend Kultur Fahrt and Safaris.
Tsavo West and East and Amboseli. The best was to book it there. It was cheaper.
We did everything with Ramos and he spoke German quite well and knows everything there.
We kept his number and E-Mail if someone wants it.
The staff was friendly. Sadly only very few understood German.
They all spoke English. Although a couple at the reception spoke German.
We noticed English was necessary there.
Our rooms were cleaned twice daily. Mornings complete cleaning. Afternoons only changing a small bed and putting the mosquito net on it.
In Kenya men do the cleaning which was probably why it wasn't so very clean.
At least they tried to do their work well. The Kenyans are like that.
The laundry did cost.
When we had complaints the staff tried as quickly as possible to solve the problem.

There are three restaurants. Two from a la carte. Table reservation was required at the reception. At one of the restaurants BBQ was 50% reduction for all inclusive guests.
The others were free.
Sport & Entertainment
We took so many excursions that we never had time nor wanted to play sports.¨We only saw that everyday watergymnastics, water polo or beach soccer were offered.
The entertainers were always very funny friendly and offered or invited to participate.
Evenings the entertainment was either a concert or acrobats. Afterwards a small disco which we didn't really like as much.
AI guests could reserve and take katamaran rides for free with a guide.
Surfing and kayaks too. For those good weather necessary.
To the beach and pool
There were no chairs or shades on the beach, since in the Kenya the beach is public. We could only lay down at the pool.
It was a disadvantage for the tourists, but that was Kenya.
So we were usually at the pool and sometimes we went to the sea.
The sea was nice but the beach boys were a bit disturbing. They always followed and tried to offer us something.
We didn't talk with them or just said no.
The pool chairs were always scarce but when we asked the pool attendant ( always someone and then you could get one). Or we rose early and saved our places. At the pool there was always enough shade that's why we seldom needed the sunshade.
There was always a waiter at the pool and he served us drinks when we wanted.
Internet
There was Cyber Cafe or we could take our laptops to the reception area and go per WLAN online.
The internet cost 4 Euro an hour.
Room
The superior rooms were very large and comfortable (see picture)
It had a large balcony with chairs and table.
Hairdryer. Safe (for 2 Euro daily)
Bathroom with safe and shampoo
Superior rooms were very large and comfortable (see picture)
Larger balcony with chairs and table.
Safe (for 2 Euro daily)
There was a smaller refrigerator minibar which for a small price for AI guests was refilled
In the room a water heater and tea and coffee.
We didn't use it as there were bars near and drank there.
The rooms were always clean.
The condition of the rooms was not old. Only the wall with the air conditioner had mildew.
Tips and recommendations
They had different outlets. Could ask reception for adaptor - good to bring own.
Good we had Kenyan Schillings.
Best to bring Euros and change there. The exchange rate in the hotel was very low. Should only change there as last choice. Possible to change in supermarket but need
taxi there. There is a Bancomat there.
Excursions. Order there.
We got Ramos telephone number and Email address from this website.
He studied in Germany and worked a long time as a tour guide. We took a VIP safari with him for 4 days at a good price.
On the Kultur trip you see how the Kenyans live. We never saw that many on holiday.
We recommend contacting Ramos in advance to plan excursions.
From the hotel to Germany per phone was 3 Euro per minute.
We used VOIP on the internet.
