Fantastic hotel and staff
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe haven't stayed in a hotel for a ski holiday for many years, generally preferring self catering. The Wengenerhof reminded us of how fantastic a hotel based ski holiday can be. When we arrived at the station, our cases and skis were immediately taken from us by the porter who loaded them onto his electric cart and gave us clear instructions on how to get to the hotel (only a short walk from the station). On arrival, the receptionist greeted us very warmly - she knew who we were and also introduced to her colleague. She then showed us up to our rooms (we had a double our son had a single). The rooms were lovely. The dble was very large and spacious; lots of storage cupboards; tea and coffee making facilities; balcony with an amazing view; large bathroom with 2 sinkes. Our luggage was delivered to the rooms and the skis to the ski room. On the latter point, we took advantage of the option to leave our skis in the sister Hotel the Silberhorn which gave us more flexibility for the station and cable car.
The meals were very well prepared and varied. Although 5 courses, they were all of a sensible size, and the salad course meant that we did keep a good balance. Breakfast was a buffet with a massive selection (inlduing Prosecco ).
The staff were friendly, helpful and available throughout the stay; the waiting staff were attentive but not invasive, and very proficient. The manager was a beaming, ever present, and helpful man.
