Wonderful hotel
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThere aren't many places we go back to more than once but having first visited the Wengenerhof in February 2010 we decided we'd definitely go back. On arrival in January 2011 we were welcomed like old friends and it was the start of another week in a wonderful hotel which is full of character. Our luggage was picked up from the station and had been taken to our room by the time we arrived to check in. We had a room on the front of the hotel with its own balcony and spectacular views. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful which made us feel at home. The breakfast buffet had everything we could possibly want from nutella on toast to smoked salmon and dinner was a 5 courses affair with a good variety of well cooked and presented meals throughout the week. The hotel is immaculately clean and rooms are well presented. Beds are turned down and will even be made up the way you like with any combination of sheet, duvet or blanket. The recreational facilities at the hotel are limited but guests do have the opportunity to use the wellness facilities at one of its sister hotels. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train station (there are regular trains to Kleine Scheidegg) and on the way you pass the Mannlichen cable car and nursery slopes.
