Hotel Witt

The hotel is centrally located in the centre of Kalmar (close to the cathedral and the town hall). Everything was reachable on foot.

We arrived at the hotel from Copenhagen around 2:00 pm. In the reception area there was a crowd already.
The lady at the front desk told us that our room (all rooms) would only be ready from 3:00 pm. We should come back in an hour. Like the rest of people. What can you do after a long journey and wanting to explore Kalmar freshly showered??
Ok, we came back shortly after 3:00 pm. The room was still not ready. The lobby area was full of people and all had to wait. The front desk clerk was, like the rest of staff at the hotel, completely overstrained. We still waited for 30 minutes until we could get the room. Sorry.... that was not a good start.

We'd only had breakfast.
Which was good and had everything that you need. We plunged into the fresh waffles (dough with a waffle maker to make them yourself) with jam and cream.
BUT: After the hotel was obviously fully booked, there was complete chaos at breakfast later on. No places left, you had to share a table with strangers. Service staff also couldn't keep up. And a long queue at the buffet. The breakfast room should be adjusted to the number of guests.

The hotel has an outdoor pool, but we didn't use it.

The room was ok. Modernly furnished, with an LCD TV.
Typical Scandinavian bathroom (small, overflowed after the shower etc. ).
It was sufficient for just sleeping there.

Parking outside the hotel is free from 3:00 pm in the afternoon until 9:00 am in the morning. If you only stay for the night (like we did on our round-trip), you should park for free on the street.

A parking garage had to be reserved beforehand.
Parking during the day, however, is really expensive.
