Chaos in the entertainment team but a decent hotel *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel corresponded to the description on the homepage, it was a neo antique or pseudo antique club area. It consisted of living quarters in two large buildings, one of these had 48 apartments, the other had 68 hotel rooms.
Location
The bus transfer takes as expected with infants borderlined 2 hours. The area was divided by the main road Alanya/Antalya and the road was busy, also at night. Sleep with open windows was nearly impossible, especially in the apartment as the bordering property sadly wasn't built on and also no other sound protection was available. Only the ground floor was shielded by the property wall. At an acceptable distance there were enough shopping possibilities, excursions could be booked in the hotel but also outside of it.
The beach was as described in the brochure really a sandy beach, but the volleyball field, the beach chairs and a shady playarea were located on a finde sandy floor, intersperses with small stones.
The ocean shore was nearly completely stony and with a steep drop, definitely not suitable for small kids. The ocean water was sometimes dirty, it was apparently the trash of the passing ships, sadly not to be changed.
Like you can also read in other reviews, the service was almost perfect. Probably due to the recession, the hotel was only booked half, which was good for the most guets, for the staff it wasn't though, as their salaries strongly depended on tips. From time to time you saw somebody, who looked mistempered, but that was really the exception. You didn't need any knowlege of foreign languages, not even English. The whole staff was very child friendly.
Gastronomy
The offer was extensive and varied for the rather manageable size of the hotel. The breakfast was with rolls and bread which tasted like from a German baker, extra cook for eggs or omelette, jams were more like syrup, the coffee was very good. We always ate lunch at the buffet of the beach bar, they always offered the same things: Hamburger, pizza, pasta, fries, salads, fruits.
Sport & Entertainment
At arrival there were 2 entertainers in the hotel, Abi for the adults, Selina for the kids. As first time visitors of the hotel we went there completely impartial. Abi, a Turk with over a 20 year past in Hamburg was very noticeable with his un-pushy manner. The program was displayed on a board, the activities were called out and those who wanted could join in. Beach volleyball twice a day we, as adults found great, also darts, boccia, air rifle shooting and more. On the whole soft activities.
Selina, an 18 year old German from Dortmund was at first optically noticeable: long, slim, pretty, probably not to the enthusiasm of some of the wives. Our kids (5 and 11 years old) went to the kids club without any expectations and were thrilled right from the beginning, a real surprise, as our oldest one has to be described as a complete kids club grump. Even our 19 month old son should take part in the kids club biscuit baking. The enthusiasm for Selinas care remained until the unwilling farewell.
So the 6 suns go to Selina as a thanks from our kids.
One day later we then had 3 entertainers, next to Abi the team from the year before with Nicky and Charly, much to the joy of some of the regular guests. While our 5 year old was still missing Selina our 11 year old still went to the kids club without worries. She certified that Nicky was also a very good entertainer and dealt a bit more with the interests of the older kids, whereas from what we could see the smaller kids were left out a bit. Simultaneous activities for 4 year old girls and 12 year old boys are of course only limitedly possible so no complaints. At first Charly was noticeable with much louder activities, so the end of the soft activities? Partly yes, but Charly knew excellently how to adapt himself to the requests of the guests, he always seemed happy and in the middle of things. Also within a short time he knew many guests by name and without much resistance he could joke around with our kids, which otherwise only Selina succeeded in. If you voluntarily or involuntarily wanted to stand on stage in an evening show you were quite right with him. Still there was no advantage of changing the activities team, at least during the day up and with the kids disco it wasn't noticeable that more program was offered with 3 entertainers than like when there were only 2 entertainers at our arrival.
All activities took place in the beach area, so there wasn't any noise disturbance in the hotel area.
Room
The apartment had two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. I would want to give 5.5 suns but that's not possible with this rating system.
Particularly good: Condition of the furniture and beds (as new), two balconies (one to dry the laundry), a large kitchen with a very large refrigerator, you couldn't hear noises from the neighbors.
Not ideal: There was only one key for six people.
Tips and recommendations
It was a super well-kept hotel for the beach and relaxing holiday, very suitable for families as far as the little kids didn't want to swim in the ocean. I was also given the task of praising and recommending the massage team. Compared with other hotels, the question arises where the 5th star got lost.
