Nice, stylish hotel in the heart of town *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel de Draak is smack in the center of Bergen op Zoom. Right in front of the hotel there was a very beautiful, large space with many cafes, restaurants and bars) and just a few steps away and the main shopping streets - the location could not have been better. The city itself is very small, but around the hotel is the old, historical city center and the architecture is really nice! The hotel is not of a building, but rather a merger of different historic buildings virtually next to each other, the houses are very all very extensive restoration. We stayed in a neighboring building - diagonally across street, also a stately nature of the property with 3 floors and each about 6 -8 rooms per floor. So from the location and the buildings is the DE DRAAK absolutely top and all around recommendable - I couldn't imagine a better location. We had a very large (classical), double room on top floor with like over 4 meters ceiling and FRAMEWORKS in the room. The size has surprised us a lot. Decoration is very elegant, dark colors, parquet!! Everything was wonderful (we think I counted in room #7 lamps), the bathroom was also large with bath ... Everything clean and nice! We were in the restaurant of the hotel food (not the classic, just the "young" around the corner) and the service and especially the food were gorgeous. The starter, the rump steak, and the crème brulée very fine, the wine choice accurate, here we were very satisfied. The hotel offers a very high quality breakfast. Coffee to be tapped yourself on the machine (all sorts of ... Coffee, cappuccino, Caffe Latte, hot chocolate ... ) There is smoothies, actimel ... Very fine meats and cheeses - it wasn't huge and opulent set up, but very nice and good quality really great - there are literally only brand names at the buffet! The building of the hotel are already for a highlight - which I like very much, so I can only say positive about the DE DRAAK reports and recommend it thoroughly.
