Ionian Sea View Hotel

As mentioned, the views were fabulous. The hotel is right next to the sea, and the pool is a really good size. The hotel is also right next to the water sports jetty, which was really handy. From reviews I had read before visiting, I thought that I would have to hire a scooter to get to and from Kavos, but the walk is actually pleasant and not that far at all, yet it's far away enough to be out of the nightlife if that's what you want. There is a supermarket at the hotel which has all that you would need, and the prices are pretty much the same as all the other supermarkets in the area, if not better.

I can not stress enough how friendly and welcoming all members of staff were. We were made to feel at home straight away. All of the staff spoke very good English, and even helped us learn some Greek (efharisto Yianni!). One of my friends had a problem with their electricity, but as soon as she told the staff, Thomas appeared and fixed it straight away. Another member of staff told us that if we wanted to have a barbecue at any point, just to let her know and she would prepare one for us. The only downside with the service was that our towels were only replaced once during our two week stay, if we hadn't have brought our own towels we would have struggled, but fortunately we did. Apart from that one point, the service was faultless,

The food in the hotel restaurant was fabulous. If you stay at the Ionian Sea View you must try the beef stifado, it was incredible. The beef was so tender, and the tomato and baby onion sauce was gorgeous! The portions were good too. After one meal, a member of staff (I think she was called Athalia) gave us some complimentary chocolate cake that she had made that day, and it was delicious!! As well as traditional dishes like moussaka and Slouvaki, they also serve pizza 24 hours a day, full English breakfasts, lasagne, burgers etc. The prices were fine, you could have a full English breakfast for 2.50 Euros, and the main meals of an evening were around the same price, if not less, than other local restaurants.

The pool was a good size and was kept really clean. There were plenty of sunbeds and parasols, and there was a snack bar which served fresh food and drinks all day. As mentioned, the water sports jetty is right next door so that was good. Of an evening, the bar had a great atmosphere, try a Red Passion cocktail, they're really tasty! My friend said that her red wine was gorgeous too, I think it was made locally. You can access the internet in the bar, there are two pcs available. Also, if you want to watch a film, they will happily put one on for you, and the seating is comfy brown leather sofas,

The room was a good size, like I said before the views were fabulous. We were on the ground floor, and my four friends had rooms on the top floor, but the view from each room was amazing. The bathroom was a nice size, with a large sink, and a bath tub with a shower. I think our shower curtain was a little short, because I kept soaking the floor after each shower! The kitchen was compact but fine, we didn't really use it other than to make a cup of tea as we ate out every night, Air conditioning was available if needed, but we didn't need it at all during our stay.

My only tips would be to take your own towels to be on the safe side, and you may run out of toilet roll which isn't replaced, so either take your own, or you'll need to buy some locally.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ionian Sea View, and we would all visit again, none of us wanted to leave! I've read some bad reviews on the internet, but we genuinely had a lovely time, the staff were lovely, the accommodation was great, and the food was delicious,
