A very friendly and well situated hotel
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe were on a half board basis. There is a wide range of food for both breakfast and dinner. The food I would describe as European. There is everything from Paella, to frankfurters to chips.
This was our third visit here. We enjoy it as the staff are so friendly and the hotel is right in the middle of a lively resort.
The guest are mostly German but this year there were more English as Ocean Village uses this hotel as a base for people on a cruise and stay holiday.
I only gave the hotel 5. 5 because the week we usually go used to have entertainment every night but unfortunately this was not available this year.
Location
Puerto Alcudia, where the hotel is situated is in the middle of everything. It is a five minute walk to the beach. Right next to all the main street with a variety of shops and restaurants. Alcudia also has lovely lake which is also a short walk from the hotel. Infact if you are lucky to be in one of the rooms on the upper level of the hotel, your room will look over this lake.
The buses are also a short walk away which can take you to all the local markets. Also the marina is a 20 minute walk away, along the beach which is well worth a visit.
The staff are very friendly and nothing is ever a problem. they are multi-lingual and if you speak English, this is not a problem.
Again the only thing i would criticise would be the lack of entertainment the week we were there.
Gastronomy
The food is European and is very fresh and a wide range of food is available at meal times. It may not be to everyones taste but is of a good quality.
Sport & Entertainment
There is a pool table, tennis court, table tennis and a lovely outdoor pool. There is also a secluded area with a jacuzzi and sauna. This year the hotel also offered massages. There are mini-markets created a short walk away. The pool is cleaned every morning and even better no one is allowed to reserve a sunbed so you are always guaranteed a space next to the pool.
Room
The rooms all have a balcony either looking over the pool or over a quiet street. Even the rooms on the street have great views over either the old town or Alcudia itself.
There is a fridge for use on the rooms and a safe. There is a telephone which can be used for outside calls or to other rooms and reception.
Everything is clean and your room is attended to daily.
There is a lively hotel right next door which has music playing daily and also at night.
The rooms are air conditioned which is lovely on a warm day.
Tips and recommendations
We always go in May when the resort is quieter. You can wander at your own pace and don't have to bustle your way through the crowds. The temperature is usually in the 20s but this year is sored to 40 degrees celsius. Use the local buses, they are frequent and cheap. if you are using them on a market day, try and go early as they can be very busy and many buses won't stop if there is a big queue of poeple. The telephone boxes are cheap and reasonable to call home. We had a 10 minute call for 2 euros.
