One point first: this review is based on a hostel, the comparison with the suns shall apply only to other hostels. The hostel is now as families Ilmenau youth hostel certified. It has 130 beds in2-, 4-and 6-bed rooms, all with shower and toilet. It is located in a residential area and boasts a larger Green square in front of the house. Do it appears to the smaller, for the older children there was a corner book ascetic ball basket; there is the possibility to grill. Bus station right in front of the doorstep. Our four bed room was quite large, shower and toilet were separated. In the room there were four lockers as well as a table and four chairs, and other possibilities to the file on the wall. The room was clean. In the morning the breakfast was a small buffet with fresh rolls and bread. There were several sorts of jam, Nutella, honey as well as Wurtst and cheese and cereals. That is enough for a good start into the day. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were there during the biathlon and ski jumping in the centre of oberhof drove with the bus stops in front of the door stops right outside the arena in oberhof. (please reserve) in Ilmenau and there are plenty of opportunity for exercise, hiking or sightseeing. We therefore certainly will be back in summer/autumn.
